Got my first BFP this morning! We've been trying since November and I was starting to think it would never happen. I'm 5 weeks exactly today going by last AF, so it looks like my due date will be early Jan 2018.
I couldn't believe it when I saw the line on the stick, have also done a clear blue digital one which shows conception was 2-3 weeks ago.
I'm excited and worried and feeling very alone as don't want to tell people this early but really want someone to talk to who has experienced this or who is going through this. DH obviously knows and is over the moon.
Is there anyone else here who it 5 weeks ish?
I don't even know if I'm supposed to tell the doctor yet! Aahh help!

Can I join?!
I'm due January 5th. We had to have fertility treatment so we can pinpoint the day I conceived. I'm 6 weeks this Friday and having our first scan, I am counting the minutes until Friday morning.. feeling some cramps and tugs every now and then but telling myself it's all normal.
It took so long for it to happen that I have to keep pinching myself that it is actually real. I'm terrified every time I go to the toilet Confused

I'm due in January too! Around the middle, 14th or so. Got my BFP on Sunday too (well, two not-so-big positives, and then 2 clear blue digital tests, to remove any doubt! Might have gone overboard slightly... :S) Can't believe it, to be honest. Congrats to everyone! :)

Kitcaty · 09/05/2017 21:41

Aww congratulations whereland and user :D. It's strange isn't it, wanting it for so long and then finding out you are pg! I'm still finding it hard to believe.
Is your scan on Friday a private scan? I'd love to have one that early but was told not before 12 weeks as standard

Whereland · 09/05/2017 21:46

It's with the fertility clinic so it's separate from the normal maternity appointments. They do one at 6 weeks and 8 weeks for us.
Also I'm in Ireland so I'm guessing our health systems will be a little different.
Yes it's so surreal isn't it! We started trying in April 2015, seems like a lifetime ago Grin

user1484167681 · 09/05/2017 22:05

Yeah, I spent Monday in shock. Having spent half the weekend in tears because I thought AF was on her way, and was so disappointed! (Had cramping, which has only lightened up today, at last.)

We're in London and planning to treat ourselves to a private 7.5 week scan, just for reassurance- and because DH is working abroad almost continuously til July so might miss the booking appointment. Let us know how yours goes, whereland! Great news after such a long wait.

Cupcakey · 10/05/2017 11:35

Congrats :-) bfp for me to, very nervous as have had previous loss before my dd. Also due early Jan fingers crossed and positive thoughts for us all xxx

Kitcaty · 10/05/2017 13:20

Congrats and I really hope all goes well for you this time. Have you got a date for your first appointment yet?

Congratulations! I've not gone anything from the NHS yet, although I booked in for the viability scan this morning- 2nd June! It's going to be a weird experience, I think...

user1484167681 · 10/05/2017 18:34

*GOT anything from the NHS, oops

Cupcakey · 10/05/2017 19:54

Congrats everyone, I rang the gp so have to have appointment with them first then I have midwife appointment who then refers for scan all a bit long winded really! Not feeling much sickness yet just odd hungry/ sick feeling if that makes sense! Anyone else not got morning sickness? Xx

Kitcaty · 10/05/2017 22:07

I haven't had any sickness or feeling of sickness yet and I really hope I don't because I'm more scared of feeling sick all the time than I am of the giving birth part. I just don't know how I'd be able to do my job if I was feeling sick all the time.
One thing I am experiencing other than sore boobs (is a bit tmi but thought I'd share as some of you may also get it haha) is awful stomach pains that had me really really worried but it turned out to be just wind haha! But for the last two nights the pains woken me up and I couldn't stand up straight and then I go to the bathroom and I'm fine. Apparently this is quite common and peppermint tea can help! I'm sure there's going to be alot worse to come.

I'm thinking of going for an early scan for peace of mind. But have no idea how to go about it. Can your doctor refer you to a private place for a scan or do you find a private hospital yourself?

I'm feeling completely fine, so far. Was going to the loo a lot in the last few days, but even that has stopped today. Hopefully it's not a bad sign- I've read that symptoms tend to start around weeks 6-8, and not everyone gets them anyway? I'm hoping to just enjoy the time while I still feel like my old self :) When's your GP appointment?? Looking forward to it?

OutComeTheWolves · 10/05/2017 22:15

Ooh me too! Haven't told anyone irl but am due around 8th Jan!

user1484167681 · 10/05/2017 22:21

Congratulations!! My parents popped over this evening (I'm in the middle of moving house, to complicate matters!) and I was SO close to blurting it out, but want to wait a couple more weeks.... I'm terrible with secrets!

Kitcaty · 10/05/2017 22:36

Congratulations Outcomethewolves!! Welcome to our little group :).
My first appointment is on the 8th June! Which is ages away but the surgery said my doctor didn't need to see me if a home test confirmed the pregnancy so they booked me in with the midwife on 8th June. Seems like they're not interested and I really would like some reassurance so that's why I was thinking of going for a private early scan.
I've told my mum, I'm rubbish with secrets too

Oh, didn't see your previous posts, Kitcaty, sorry. I've booked at the Fetal Medicine Centre in Marylebone, I think you can just book in without a referral privately- it's largely just a money making exercise in my view, but I'll buy into it for the peace of mind! Did some research and they were recommended; the scan will be £100(!). Really hoping we see a heartbeat because I know at 7.5weeks we might not even though the pregnancy is progressing fine, but I'll still worry.

Kitcaty · 11/05/2017 07:53

Thanks user. I think £100 is worth it to put your mind at rest. I'll have a look online and see where I can find near me

Hey everyone,
I had the scan yesterday and could see the yolk sack implanted where it should be but nothing else, so they think it's probably more like 5 weeks than 6, and I have to go back for another scan in 2 weeks just to check everything is progressing ok. So glad it's not ectopic!! The pain I have could have been from a cyst that has now gone down or just normal pregnancy pain...
Still, definitely reassuring to have had the scan, so if you're worried I'd recommend it, though you really can't see very much at all this early on

Other than mildly sore boobs and increased hunger haven't had any other symptoms. @Kitcaty I'm also really scared of getting morning sickness Confused fingers crossed

Whereland · 11/05/2017 09:17

That's good to hear rachy, I have my 6 week scan tomorrow and I just can't wait- I know I probably won't see much but just want some reassurance that there's something there! Was it an internal or on your stomach?

HannahD1991 · 11/05/2017 11:35

Congrats!! I'm 5+4, also due in the new year! Grin

I had my Dr's appointment 2 days ago - I would definitely book in - All he done was take my blood pressure and went over my medical history. Then he gave me the number for the midwife unit and I have my 1st appointment next Wednesday!

We have told our families but that's it. I couldn't help myself and plus there's too many birthday party's coming up every weekend for the next 4 weeks so they would start to suspect! I'm super anxious though - just wish I could have it confirmed now that everything is ok! I am thinking about booking an early 8 week reassurance scan.

Congrats again everyone!! X

rachy22 · 11/05/2017 12:44

Congrats @HannahD1991
We have told my mum, and are planning to tell OH's when visiting at the weekend. Don't think we'll tell anyone else till much later though.

@Whereland it was an internal scan, too early to see anything on an external one. But it's nothing to worry about, I had no pain or discomfort at all

Whereland · 11/05/2017 12:54

Thanks for that, I've had more internal scans than I care to count with the fertility treatment, well used to them! Can't wait to see something Smile

Presh1234 · 11/05/2017 14:23

Me too. EDD 13 January ish. 5 weeks on Saturday since last AF. Feeling totally overwhelmed, panicked, scared, anxious. Everything. Have my head in a negative headspace thinking of all the things that could go wrong instead of all the wonderful things that could go right. 😓

Kitcaty · 11/05/2017 19:19

Good new rachy :) next time there will be a tiny baby for you to see.
Congrats presh, is say try not to worry too much but I'm exactly the same, thinking of all the things that could go wrong.
I think I got my due date wrong and I'm really confused after reading into it more. My last period started 2nd April which puts me at due 7th Jan. However, my cycles are normally 35 days so does that mean I'd be due 14th Jan? And according to clear blue I ovulated 22nd April so would have conceived then. Can anyone help me work it out? Thought I was going to be 6 weeks on Sunday but may only be 5
