Second trimester feeling dreadful

Hi new to mumsnet, this is my first pregnancy and I'm really struggling. I went through my first trimester with no problems, no morning sickness, slight fatigue but otherwise felt fine. Now I'm in my second trimester (25 weeks) and feeling absolutely awful Confused I've no energy, nauseated, bit of vomiting, headaches the lot. I've read that this is meant to be the "honeymoon period" of pregnancy but I feel like it's hell 😣 I was tested for anemia and it came back negative. I have a history of depression and anxiety so I don't know if that is affecting me in terms of fatigue but just wanted to see if anyone else had felt the same in second trimester? Is it anything to worry about? I just wanna feel relatively normal for at least one day haha

Thanks xx

Hi user, I know just how you feel. First pg here as well and almost 17 weeks. I am still shattered. No morning sickness in my first trimester either! It's weird because my only real PG symptom is tiredness. Am on holiday just now and feeling guilty because I should be appreciating and enjoying it but the tiredness does go for you emotionally, doesn't it? I have a history of anxiety and depression too. And moving house five days after we get back which keeps making me feel teary, I've never been good with change.

No real advice to give here except to not be hard on yourself as this is such a massively overwhelming and weird time for us first timers.

I felt horrendous in my second trimester with DD2. Although I had sickness throughout the whole pregnancy, it was during the 2nd trimester I felt my worst - really weak, exhausted, breathless. I remember having to get taxis all the time because I'd walk somewhere and suddenly be able to carry on. Awful. I do sympathise and hope you feel better soon. I felt less weak in my 3rd trimester.

21 weeks here and a daily nap is needed! No sickness or anything else here. Just the bloody fatigue! No magical second trimester energy for me. You're not alone xx Flowers

I think it's a way of preparing us for life with a baby! Permanent sleepiness Shock
