Wisdom tooth agony

I've got an appointment next Thursday to have my wisdom tooth removed (finally!) however I'm 6 weeks pregnant.
I was originally supposed to be sedated, but since finding out I'm pregnant I planned to cancel my appointment and reschedule for the second trimester.
Well, the pain is now beyond bad. I've called my dentist and they've said it really does need to come out asap, and there's more risk to the baby by leaving it in there.
They won't sedate me, just numb me up but I'm still so worried. I've had multiple losses and really need this baby to be okay.
Has anyone had dental treatment done so early on?
Even if not, if you've had wisdom teeth removed-how was it? How bad was the pain afterwards? I'll need to be cut open and stitched up, possibly need the tooth next to it removed due to positioning and they'll send me home with strong antibiotics and pain relief.
Am I just worrying over nothing? Help!

I had a wisdom tooth out with pregnant. . Numbed only.

Didn't feel a thing.

And ate a cheese sandwich later in the day!!

Sorry to ask but was everything okay with baby afterwards? That's what I'm most worried about, been hearing a lot of horror stories lately.

What are you worried about? It'll be a local anesthetic and if you tell them you're pregnant they'll use one that isn't harmful to baby...?

Koosh90 · 05/05/2017 18:44

I'm worried because, as stated, I've had multiple losses (10 to be exact) and I'm highly dental phobic. The wanted to put me out for it because of how panicky I have been before, but now they can't so I'm worried about the procedure and worried about my pregnancy too.
Also, as I said not long ago, I've heard a lot of horror stories about having tooth extractions during the first trimester.

Of course, and I'm sorry about your losses ❤ but if you tell the dentist then they won't use an anesthetic that is harmful to baby. What horror stories have you heard? As already stated gum disease or similar can cause more damage as the infection passes in your blood x

You can have diazepam when pregnant by the way - ask your gp to prescribe you 2-5mg to ease your nerves!

Someone said the baby's heart could stop, and there's a small risk of miscarriage.
And thank you-I'll be sure to mention it on Monday and see what they say 😊

Hmm, has your dentist flushed the tooth? That used to help me for a while before I had it removed. Or antibiotics? X

I have awful problems with a wisdoms tooth it gets infected a LOT , I have antibiotics and use citadels when it happens and that helps a lot.
Need to get it out but ttc and want to just leave it for now

Excitement2017 · 05/05/2017 22:01

CURASEPT not citadels????!

Koosh90 · 06/05/2017 11:32

I just finished a week of antibiotics but no, they haven't flushed it, unless my memory really is that bad 😁

Honestly wish I'd have got it out before I got pregnant. Stupidly thought it would take me forever to get pregnant since I had been on the depo and thought the pain couldn't get any worse-I was wrong!
