Bump early on?

So I'm 6 weeks pregnant and my belly is rather bloated low down and a typical "bump" shape!

This is my second pregnancy and with my first i didn't show until way past 20 weeks !

At the minute I look like I've just put on a little bit of weight but only on my tummy. My partner keeps joking saying I'm having twins !

Did anyone else show rather early? Or is it just bloating and will go down?

it's bloating

I had this in both pregnancies and was in maternity clothes at 6 weeks as it was all too tight! Bloating stayed for weeks unfortunately

I needed to be in maternity trousers from almost when I found out, so 6 weeks-ish. It's my second, I didn't show till much later with my first. It was like as soon as the hormones kicked in my belly was all 'I know what I'm doing here' and popped out. I'm currently 32 weeks and have caught up with muse. I'd say I'm about the same as at 32 weeks last time.

*caught up with myself

I'm still in my normal clothes at the minute but all my bras are getting too tight (Sorry tmi) and in the evening I don't I'm opening the button of my jeans as they are uncomfy !

I went on holiday at 5 weeks without dp and sent him a bikini photo joking about my little bump and he said I'd just eaten too much on holiday (cheeky bugger), was in maternity jeans the following week, the same week we found out we were expecting twins Wink good luck OP.

Yes I showed early - also twins sorry

Look at twin insurance before any scan!! Worth the money!

Cmajmp · 05/05/2017 06:17

Sorry to be a pain, how did you find out you were expecting twins?

Twins run on my partners side. His nan just told me that twins run every 4 generations in their side and my partner is the 4th generation !!

Would it be picked up on an early scan?

I'll also look into that insurance!

With my second I "popped" about two days after getting a BFP. Initially it was just bloat but I did develop a bump and was in maternity clothes quite early on so much for all that Pilates post DC1.

GreenGoblin0 · 05/05/2017 08:26

twins running on your partner's side will not be relevant. it's only non identical twins in the maternal line that can be genetic.

BillyButtfuck · 05/05/2017 08:36

Twins from his side is irrelevant to your chances of conceiving twins, the gene (which causes two eggs to be released instead of one) can only, for obvious reasons, be passed to and from females.

I found out early because I had very bad bleeding and pain which I was in hospital for as a suspected ectopic pregnancy. They took me for an emergency scan. The ultrasound tech wouldn't let us see the monitor at first in case of bad news but DP could sort of see and thought he saw two, but assumed she had mirrored the image.
The lady was very blasé and just said 'both seem fine' and turned on the screen and there they were! We were ShockGrin

I got congratulated for my pregnancy by someone at 8 weeks with my first! Not twins, but 10lb baby (I'm not very big). Second pregnancy did not show til later, so there seems little reason to it
