Anybody have an increase in freckles?

Hi all,

Did anyone out there experience an increase in freckles since being pregnant? I've always had a little sprinkling on my nose & upper cheeks, they now seem to have spread all over cheeks & chin?? P.S. Not been in sun lately

I've got more freckly (all over my body) with each pg. Some fade afterwards, but I remain frecklier than before.

There is a 'condition' called (IIRC) chloasma, where you get a sort of 'butterfly' of darkened skin over your nose and cheeks. I think you only get it during pg and it fades afterwards, but it is important to use strong sunscreen on your face if you do have it, as the skin is more fvulnerable to uv at thta time.

My freckles have definitely got darker, I've got a few new darker patches on my face too, a bit like big, pale freckles. I'm very freckly anyway, so maybe I'm more prone to it.

I think I've got new moles appearing!

HI snowi, I think prettycandles is right, I went on the pill for the first time a few years ago, and I got loads of funny pigment all over my face, not really freckles but dirty great splodges of pigment. My gp said it was Chloasma, because the hormones in the pill were similar to pregnancy. They are usually in the upper half of the face, cheeks, forehead and around the eyes, and is sometimes called mask of pregnancy. You have my sympathies, there's not a lot you can do except wear factor 40 every day (even cloudy days). They will fade, mine took two years though. I'm hoping they don't come back now I'm pregnant!

I get new little mole / freckles over my body each time I'm pg - they start like a spot then turn into a freckle - prob about 8 new ones with each pregnancy. - none on my face though.

I noticed new tiny moles/dark freckles the other day - I have big freckles anyway which are quite faded now but do seem to show up more when pg - I had started using some of that gradual body tanning stuff this week to make myself look less pale (white actually) and freckly and more sunkissed (off white) and freckly - despite being March!

yes, I grew some more freckles, and not just on my face - I've got lots of new ones on the underside of my boobs. What's that all about?
