TTC After Cerazette

Hi... I'm new to mumsnet.
I've been reading through a few different "cerazette now TTC" posts. I've read the positive stories and I've read the horrors.

I stopped taking Cerazette 12 days ago, me and my parter decided to try for baby no 1. I am 21 and have used his pill since I was around 14 so that is 7 years and have had no bleeding.

12 days after stopping I still have had no bleed but I am aware some people can conceive right away without a bleed. I hope I am that lucky!

Is there any good stories about conceiving after?

I came of cerazette at the end of January. My first cycle off the pill was 48 days, then a lightish period. Did a pg test on day 35 with a clear blue and it was positive 3+ weeks

I wasn't expecting to catch so soon to be honest, I think sometimes the interweb can be a huge contributer to stress in situations like this.

I too by the way had no periods while on cerazette and was on it for years.

I stopped it at the end of August and we weren't actively trying. I bled in September and October and then had a positive test in November. I'd been on it for 3 years with zero periods.
As PP said, other people's stories can cause a lot of anxiety. Try not to worry too much. I think I read that it takes about a year on average to conceive after coming off a pill.

I was only taking it for about 6 months I came off it and a few weeks later had a bleed and conceived within a month after that. I'm not sure if it makes a difference to how long you were taking it? But anyway Good luck!! X

It took me exactly a year from my last pill to conceiving DD.
I know it's hard but the best advice really is "don't Google". The Internet is a scary place. That goes for coming off the pill, ttc, pregnancy, everything. You will always find a horror story and the anxiety just isn't worth it!

Cane off it in June, had a bleed a couple of weeks later, then had a proper period beginning of Sugust as we missed the fertility window bse I was away with work. Got a BFP early September. So you could say we conceived during cycle 2. I had been on cerazzette for 10yrs.

Stopped last june but took other measures as I wanted to see if cycle returned. Withdrawal bleed then 4 weekly ish periods. Went on hol Oct, came home with a stowaway and BFP beginning november

It's officially day 14 with no pill. Me and my partner have "did it" about 12 days out of those 14, not in a chore way. I lost all my drive with the pill and our sex was not a lot whilst on it, so we are having a little fun and if it seems to become a chore I am sure we will discuss this.

I hope I have already conceived, I've took two pregnancy tests out of curiosity and both negative but this could be because it is still too early to show. If my periods or withdrawal bleed still have not returned in another 14 days I will take another test.

Sorry I don't know all the shortened meanings of things other than TTC.. please fill me in.

Far far too early to test, don't bother with wasting money.

Not everyone has a withdrawal bleed or periods that return straight away. Partly why I waited- so I did know when I was 'missing' one.

When do you recommend taking a test?

Personally I'd wait until day 28 before even thinking about testing. Like I said earlier my first cycle was 48 days. It can take a while to flush itself out

Try not to get too stressed with your body though. It's hard and I was going crazy bit around day 32 of being off it. It's like the whole watched pot never boils scenario

Definitely don't bother testing. I did buy the cheap Internet ovulation test strips(50 strips for £5) which I used everyday after about 2wks off the pill. I wasn't particularly trying to pinpoint ovulation but more of trying to understand what my body was doing from coming off the pill to 1st bleed. I wouldn't bother using the more expensive ovulation sticks though.

Hi everyone. Update.. today is day 18 since my last pill and I have bled today... very light right now but I'm glad I've had something so I know my body is working after 5 years of Cerazette. I'm so excited for my future and I pray that my body is normal, happy and healthy ♥️
