Out of date test

Just got a BFP from an out of date (by a year) clearblue test. DH is away out to buy some more and I'm impatiently waiting for him and downing a pint of water. I'm 3 days late. What are the chances of it being a false result? I think hope there's a fairly slim chance that it's wrong...

I don't see how it could pick up the hormone, if the hormone isn't there.

It was! Another BFP with a new test Reckon in due in Jan according to my calculations.

Thank you! I just realised my OP sounds like I was hoping it was negative. Was definitely hoping for a BFP! Just a bit shocked because it happened quicker than I thought it might.

Came on to say I got a positive when I used two old tests from my DD's pregnancy. They were both correct.
