coldsores and pregnancy

Hi all - I think I am developing a coldsore (have them probably about twice a year) along with my blocked nose and sore throat! Does anyone know if any medicines like Zovirax are safe - or if theres anything else I can take?

Poor you! I've got some developing too. I'm not sure about the safety of Zovirax but if you go to the chemist they'll be able to tell you wnat's safe - I've been in to my local one loads and they're really helpful.

I checked that out and was told at the local pharmacy that it is okay to use it -- as long as it is used externally only. No guarantee though, please confirm this info.
