Are you allowed to strip hair

Hi am 6weeks and 2days pregnant. I was wondering are you allowed to strip your hair and dye it. As I feel uncomfortable walking about with horrible hair that hasn't been dyed and I feel like a scuff.is it safe

What do you mean allowed? There is no law to what you do with your own hair

Just do your patch tests, sometimes your skin can get a bit sensitive but other than that it's safe. I dyed all the way through all my pregnancies.

No it's illegal, you'll be arrested by the pregnancy police. Don't risk it!

NHS website under the pregnancy FAQ section says there's no evidence that it's unsafe- the amount of chemicals in home hair dye kits is tiny compared to the amount you'd need to take in to cause damage. (This, coming from a prematurely greying 29 year old who is also 17 weeks pregnant and started dyeing their hair again a few weeks ago. It was when my 23 year old student said "oh yeah, you DO have grey hairs don't you? I can see them!" that I decided the dye needed to come back). 😂

Heh I had the same when modelling for a student hairdresser 'oooo you have loads of white hairs don't you'. I think they learn tact a bit later on

I think the only think you would need to worry about is bleach being in contact with the skin because it gets into your pores and there high chemicals but normal hair dye kits should be fine. Should state on the box anyway

Definately do a patch test.
I too am going prematurely grey and have been dying my hair for years, but my scalp can not handle it this pregnancy. I lasted less than ten minutes before I gave up!

Do a patch test just in case and have some windows open, I've just done mine and other than the smell I've have no problems! Oh but I've heard sometimes the colour won't hold as well or can hold for longer. Don't know how true that is but I bleached my hair from pink and it went green a few weeks ago!

Yeah I noticed my dye hasn't lasted anywhere near as long, so I'm going to downgrade to semi-permanent since it won't stick around anyway!

It's cause I been in hospital for hours tonight as am bleeding so that more important then my hair now

No it wasn't clear my post as it happens at half 6 pm . Got a early scan tomorrow to see if I pass the baby x

It's okay I get confuse easy I did that post hours ago before I end up bleeding bit nothing I can do so this be my 6th lost. I know fine fact I have lost it and thank you x

Nope been hospital on my own and now at home in warm bath to get blood of me the baby dad just don't care one bit so am on my own again x

I had a nap woke up bleeding but no clots or no pains or cramp but the bleeding as calm down only see red/pink blood when I wipe myself now but I only went hospital later on as when I stood up blood pouring down on my legs got pad on and it only little blood on the pad. It's nearly 1am and I just can't sleep or relax at all. I was going strip my hair early on but I decided to go to sleep and then all this happening. Can't cope with other lost I really can't it to much hurt. Even when I got back home from hospital I went all hot and sweating and been sick which looks like wee x

I feel you have a temperature and are vomiting you may have an infection. If it continues phone 111 and tell them what has happened.

I will if it get worse I just got out of the bath no blood on my pad yet but wipe myself there blood and no I live on my own my mother can't be here as she got my little sister to look after . Am just on my own. Bit nurse did say if a bleed to much when goes threw the pads to go back. I just hope it one them thinges when you bleed but still be pregnant and have healthy baby. I don't know if I should still take my folic acid in morning or stop. I just hope when comes to my scan the baby will show up and have a heart beat x

I wish you had someone with you or could go to your mums. I don't know about the folic acid either, but I'd guess that it would be better to keep taking it.
I hope you can rest a bit x

I just don't get it one minute they say it bad news the next it good news and now it bad news do they know what they doing as it messing my head up. I had a scan on 17th they said they can see tiny sac but no baby I didn't bleed then other one said I miscarriage then other one said am to early then I had a other scan on 28th different hospital they said everything okay do not worry and it would show so am back on 16th may but now am bleeding and thinking of the worse. First doctors said am 7 weeks then other doctor says am 6weeks but am unsure I don't think I am 6weeks I don't think I fall pregnant on 30th March I think I fall pregnant on 9th April. My head is all over the place. But only one way for sure is a scan tomorrow I just hope baby is a fighter and show up and not bleed anymore they no blood on my pad now just when I wipe it like pinky /red colour still no pains or cramp but I feel hungry now and still got sore boobs and on/off feeling sick. Still cant relax at all and thank you hun xx

No pains or cramp must be a good thing. Can you eat a little, it might help you sleep.
