Hi ladies I was due to be induced today and unfortunately the ward is too busy to take me due to the number of ladies in labour. Has anyone had any experience of this, I just wonder how long your induction was delayed by ? I completely understand they are busy x

Most induction wards only have around 4 beds so I'd imagine it's normal to be delayed. Hopefully it won't be by long though. Did they say they would phone you when they want you to come in or do you now have to phone them tomorrow?
I don't know for sure how it's done but I imagine they prob have some kind of system of ranking people in the order they need to come in, maybe by how many days overdue they are, medical reasons for induction etc.
Hope it all goes well!

I went in on the Monday back again Tuesday, admitted Thursday and started at 1am on the Saturday. It was a nightmare!

Hi Mrs snow I've just been told to call back tomorrow if I haven't heard anything after 12 tomorrow, so it sounds chocca block at the moment. Oh no rusk baby that sounds terrible that you were in and out ! Xx

Fingers crossed you hear from them in the morning!

These things happen. One thing I would say is take lots of things to occupy you for any delays. Hopefully you will be on your way to meeting your little one soon.

My induction was delayed even though my waters had already been broken for more than 24 hours. Neither my local nor the next closest hospital had any labour rooms (or staff) available. I had to stay on the ward overnight for monitoring due to infection risk, so that wasn't ideal.

I was finally induced 48 hours after my waters had gone. I did get to jump the queue ahead of other planned inductions due to medical need, I felt sorry for those ladies too!

Neither of us developed an infection or had any complications though so all's well that ends well.
