Is this normal, or should I see the midwife?

Morning

Currently 30 weeks pg and have been feeling dizzy in the mornings, gradually getting worse over the last couple of weeks. I'm at the point now where I feel dizzy/ faint and my arms feel very light, like they're floating in water (if that makes any sense) The dizziness is also making me feel very sick and I get headaches at the same time.

I was put on iron tablets before the weekend and thought these could be making it worse/ adding to the symptoms. It settles down by late morning/ lunchtime, but feels really horrible at the time.

Is this normal, or should I try to get an appointment?

Get an appointment lass. Better to get checked over I'd say.

It may well be nothing but I would go and see your midwife and put your mind at ease.

I would go now and get your blood pressure checked just in case. It's probably nothing, but it might just possibly be the beginning of pre eclampsia.

Give the midwife a ring now and explain, she can decide if she wants to see you and when (she almost certainly will ask you to come in later today)

I'd definitely call the midwife with those symptoms xx

I'd definitely call the midwife, even if it turns out to be nothing/something simple is is far better to be safe than sorry. Your midwife shouldn't mind x

id give the midwife a call, could just be ur anemia making u feel dizzy and the iron tablets need time to work or ur BP. best to get it checked out just incase. Do you know what your iron levels were?

Bumplovin · 02/05/2017 10:24

I would ring your maternity assessment unit for those symptoms I'd think u should be seen promptly as in today

NiceToesNaughtyToes · 02/05/2017 10:32

Iron levels were 80 (not sure what units it's measured in!) But the GP said the normal range should be around 120? Trying to get through to book in with her today, thank you for the advice :)

My concern would be preeclampsia with those symptoms so best to get checked out. Don't panic if it is though it can be treated and monitored relatively easily.

Take care of yourself and get checked over.

I have just found out I am pregnant I am coming up seven weeks I have been getting pain in my stomach and back I have been to the gp about this and had scan which showed nothing, does the pain end up going away or will it last the whole way through pregnancy, also I am completely off food and the thought of eating something makes me feel sick I don't know if this is to do with shock or is normal throughout pregnancy
