Pain relief after D&C

Hi all, if had my second D&C last Wednesday. This time is very different to first but it was 11 weeks this time. First couple days after no real cramps and small amount of blood. Since yesterday i have been in quite severe pain and the bleeding increased. I wouldn't say the amount of blood was extreme just more than first few days. The pain tho is terrible of been taking cocodamol and using hot water bottle. I do have a decent pain threshold but i can't do anything I'm doubled over or in bed. Like i said very different to first. Has anyone any suggestions for better pain relief also has anyone else experienced the delay before all the pain.

Hi OP
I was the same when I had my second child...I was in so much more pain and felt like contractions and was told that this is actually normal when you have a second and maybe a third child you get more pain after birth...just keep taking the pain killers every 4 hours and if it really doesn't help then contact your midwife or GP
Congrats on the birth x

This happened to me OP after my D&C for an MMC. Was surprised at how little pain there was initially and then bleeding and pain ramped up on day 3/4. Unfortunately it turned out I had retained tissue and the pain was sort of contractions and did get the tissue out. I was scared as didn't know what to expect, but was also reassuring in a way that my body knew what to do. Maybe worth calling out of hours or getting a gp appointment tomorrow if it continues.

Rereading and seeing your procedure was 5 days ago and the pain is so severe you're in bed I would call 111. Could be an infection- but not normal I'd say to have so much pain. Sending unmumsnetty hugs

I agree you should ask for a medical opinion at this stage Flowers
