Before we started TTC I was on Tomapiatraat (sp?) as a preventative (couldn't have beta blockers due to low heart rate) and Sumatriptan as a reliever. Came off both and took three months to conceive. No migraines for first seven weeks and then one a week and now at 11 weeks they are twice a week and damn they hurt.

Obviously paracetamol does sod all. Has anyone else been prescribed something that works?

I'm going to make an appointment with the docs on Tuesday but just looking for some glimmer of hope in the meantime.

I'm petrified of this happening. I have been prescribed rizatriptan and sumatriptan incase the first one fails. I've read that rizatriptan might be ok but will wait to see what Dr says
I've booked to see gp and am just hoping that I don't get an attack in the meantime

Definitely check on Rizatriptan as I didn't think that was allowed. I am in the Netherlands but don't think the rules are that much different. Fingers crossed for you it doesn't happen - my doc was hoping the pregnancy would stop all migraines and headaches.

(I used to be on Rizatriptan when we first started TTC).

Look into almotriptan my consultant said the risks from the migraines, especially to my blood pressure which was already high (although mine were very frequent) outweighed the risk from that particular triptan.

I am pregnant in second trimester. I'm taking sumatriptan as a reliever. I was also told that ibuprofen is ok up until 26 weeks, and have been prescribed co-codamol.
