Bridesmaid worries

Hi all.
I am 5 + 2 weeks pregnant and currently I have no symptoms at all, in fact I feel remarkably well and still can't quite believe it. I'm trying not to worry about lack of symptoms but I am due to be a bridesmaid next week and feeing quite worried about a few things - hoping for some reassurance. My biggest worry is miscarrying. I am worried enough about this but especially panicked in case it happens on the wedding day and I ruin my friends day - my dress is ivory and there is no chance a lot of sudden bleeding would go unnoticed- would I be likely to have warning signs? Worried about something awful suddenly happening during the ceremony or the speeches.
Please tell me I am being silly.

You're being silly :)

Look you're gonna be okay and wedding day or not, if something like that happened I'm sure your friend will not be angry at you for it. (She has asked you to be a bridesmaid after all)

I'm on my second pregnancy and it's always a worry when you're early on but just try not stress yourself and just have fun. Xx

Thank you Smile I know she wouldn't be angry, just sad and worried for me, but just don't want anything bad to happen on her special day.

You'd more than likely have cramping before MC but listen you're gonna be fine :) not too long until you get your first scan and I bet you can't wait to see your wee bubs. So just look forward to that milestone.

Chances are you'll be absolutely fine! I did have some bleeding at 7 weeks (but didn't miscarry and am now 17 weeks pregnant so all's good!) but if you are worried about bleeding can you wear a pantyliner or something? I know it can feel uncertain and scary but the odds are in your favour for everything to go well 😊

DH suggested a wad of toilet paper Confused panty liner much more practical. Think I will do that and just go to the toilet at every possible opportunity to double check nothing happening (doing this anyway) and try my very best to relax.

I'm sure you will be fine and from experience my miscarriage started like a period not a huge gush....I only noticed it when I went to the loo. Try not to worry. Being as relaxed as you can is the best for you and baby. Enjoy the day and good luck with the pregnancy x

Sorry you had to go through that GirlsWorld. Thank you.

You're not likely to miscarry and if you do, it would only be like a period at this stage. So wear a panty liner, take a back up bag of thicker towels, spare knickers and maybe some Andrex wipes if it makes you feel more confident. I'm a bit bonkers on plan B prep, so I might take a nice back up dress just in case too. (I had an evening dress available at my wedding just in case someone threw a Bottle of red wine at me or puked down my front, DH had a clean shirt too).

Girlsworld92 · 30/04/2017 13:30

Thank you it was a long time ago now and I've since had 2 girls so all good. Back up dress is a good plan x

I'm 4+2 and having the exact same worries! Minus the wedding to go to 😂 i think we both know we're being a bit silly but i can't help but think about it! I'm rushing to the loo about 20 times a day to check there's no blood 😂
Like PP have said, i think wearing a pantyliner and having back ups will help to reassure you if the worst does happen x

hotwater · 03/05/2017 12:25

Hannahbanana - yup, that's me too. As the week has gone on I am relaxing a bit but I do like being able to pop to the loo and reassure myself that all is fine!

Thanks Testing. Will pack my emergency back up bag tonight!
