Reduced movements - where to go?

Hello,

Usually baby is super active to the point I get rather fed up with it but I've not been feeling him today which is unusual, especially after my morning cuppa.

Problem is I am at work and haven't a clue about who to ring or where to go. I work hour and half away from my usual hospital and I haven't any of the phone numbers on me as I haven't my maternity folder with me.

Can I just drive to the hospital near my work place? Should I phone them first? Would th delivery suite be appropriate to phone as it's the only phone number I can see on this hospital's website that seems relevant to pregnancy.

Any tips on how to make him move whilst I'm at work? Usually I feel him just siting here...

Thank you x

Hmmm, tricky. It's good you've had a bit of movement; how do you feel now? Still worried?

If the hospital that "didn't want to see me" was the only one I could get to and I was still worried I think I might make myself their problem. Although there was a thread on here a while back where a woman was miles from home with reduced movements and the local hospital made a right fuss about her going there... I think I'd do it though, and be prepared for a fight.

Perhaps talk to your own hospital, explain the situation to them including the situation with the closer hospital, and if they're not happy for you to wait perhaps they could call the other hospital and tell them you're coming there.

Personally, I would still turn up at the local hospital. Make a fuss and explain your situation. No one is trying to make you feel guilty, people are just trying to help.

I would leave work now and go to the hospital else you will worry all afternoon.

Not trying to guilt you but its just constant objections, now its money. I would definitely just turn up at the other hospital they wont turn you away. Good luck OP.

I am so shocked the hospital won't see you! surely that's similar to A and E turning somebody down?

Go to local hospital. Don't tell them that you already called earlier. Your baby is viable. It's life depends on you. Please go.

Yup, go to maternity assessment at the local hospital asap. Please don't wait. Tell them you can't get to the other hospital. They will see you
