Hi ladies.
I had my little boy 3 years ago and after a long stressful labour I ended up being rushed for em cs, my 2nd baby is due May and this time I've decided to have a planned section.

has any body done the same is there a difference in recovery?

Although I've chose to have a section I'm utterly terrified still.

Thanks

Not my own personal experience but my lovely SIL had em cs first time round and second time a planned one. She said the planned one was so much better on many levels. The whole situation was calmer, she had some idea what to expect from the last time and recovery she felt was a bit better although says that a lot of that was having a toddler she had to do things for so made herself get moving!
Good luck.

Following with interest as in a similar situation. I have VBAC clinic appointment in 2 weeks and really hoping for an elective this time. I'll still be terrified though!

I've had an emcs and an ecs. I wouldn't say there was a difference in recovery for me, that felt exactly the same. The difference was with the ecs everything was calm, the doctors were chatting to me, the theatre felt relaxed. Also when I had the emcs I didn't have the option for a spinal as I already had an epidural in, this time I had a spinal and it seemed much better, with the epidural I still felt some pain through the operation but the spinal I felt nothing at all. Recovery was still as horrendous (for me) however.
