What are you planning to do with your dog whilst in labour? We're not telling anyone when I go into labour so not sure what to do 're. dog. We live 5 mins from hospital.

What do you mean re the dog, as in letting it out to pee etc? If you live five mins away surely your partner can pop home if you're there a while and he won't miss anything, he'd probably be going home to eat/sleep at some stage anyway? Can you ask a neighbour? We live very near the hospital and dh was back and forth so was able to let our dog out etc.

My mums looking after mine so I'll give her a ring to come and pick him up when I think it's all starting but obviously that involves telling her I'm in labour so that doesn't help you if you don't want to tell anyone that'll be tricky....

I might just ask dh to go back home a few times. She's ok overnight and for 4 hours or so in the day.

we also have a dog sitter so I might have him on alert and dh can drop her off for as long as we need.

Sadly doggy daycare/ boarding are away on our due date.

Current plan is to let my parents know when we go off to hospital. If daytime, ask them to come over a few hours later and stay with the dogs, if night time, come over very first thing to let out/ do breakfast/ walk.

Perhaps need to firm up on this idea

But i'd tell my parents about labour anyway
