Dd exposed to chickenpox in teh week - well the spots weren't out when she saw friend but friend is now spotty. have good friend who is 12 w pg with long awaited number 1. she came round this morning even though I said that we might have c'pox in the house. she has had it but I can't help worrying that we might somehow transmit it to her....

If your friend has already had it she's almost certainly immune. Plus the incubation time for CP is 10-14 days iirc, with peak infectivity a day or two before spots emerge and while they're still weeping. If your dd was exposed this week she's v unlikely to be infectious yet.

I am pg and my dd has just had chicken pox, so been exposed in massive doses. I asked mw and consultant about it, but when I said I had had it, there was absolutely no concern.

Then again, I've had it 3 times!!

my friend had cpox when I was pg with dd2. Went to doctors they said that it was highly unlikely I'd get as an adult. I had had it before and that was also a plus. Doc said even if I did get it not to worry it was no big deal pg would be fine.

in any event your friend should just about be ok at 12 weeks even if she gets it
