Second baby and I have had all the 'unique' ones this time. Including...

My nose has grown
Skin tag
A pregnancy 'tumour' on my gum

Last time I swelled up like a ballon around this point (38 weeks), so waiting for that one too. Attractive! Confused

Randons tuff I've noticed which I'm fairly sure is pregnancy related

Hangnails! I rarely get these but I'm suddenly getting loads and their bloody sore too Hmm Not helping my piano practice

Dry nose which, when I blow, is always slightly bloody

Hair on legs is darker

Light hair line appeared from belly button down belly

Also to usual stuff, spots galore, sickness and the worst constipation I've ever had in my life. Heartburn galore.

Anyone got any tips on treated hangnails? Minor but really sore and annoying

iamreginaphalange · 09/04/2017 11:02

Lemon - I second the heartburn and constipation.

The only that helps constipation is drinking water lots of it which then means peeing every 30 mins! It's a vicious cycle right

Heartburn - never known discomfort like it before! It's burning acid on another level! I have got 600 ml bottle of Gaviscon on the go, also gaviscon tablets and Tums.

With DS I had awful leg cramps from about 24 weeks. Always in the middle of the night, first few times DP thought the baby was coming! Also had awful greasy roots but with incredibly itchy, dry, flaky scalp. The last couple of weeks I had an itchy rash on the underside of my bump. I didn't have to shave my legs for the whole 9 months which was a result being heavily pregnant over the summer.

9 weeks in this time & so far I've got the incredible thirst, runny / crusty nose, vivid dreams & insomnia. I have a problem with watery eyes, normally have tears streaming down my face, in both pregnancies this stopped as soon as I fell pregnant.

fruityb · 09/04/2017 14:14

Drooling which I still can do.

Massive poo! Every time I went it was ridiculous.

Funnyonion17 · 09/04/2017 14:17

Moods.

Purple dots down below, that was a first and scared the living daylights out of me. Apparently they are like little blood blisters hmm.

SunshineAllTheWhile · 09/04/2017 14:28

I have so many but the weirdest one, which I had with my first pregnancy is... not being able to have anything warm/hot on my forehead. Showers have to be cool and no warm water to touch my forehead & sitting in the sun is impossible (and I LOVE sitting in the sun). Has anyone else had this?! It sets off the most uncomfortable feeling!

And also- crusty nose, skin tags on neck Sad blah blah blah. 33 weeks and counting down...

eurochick · 09/04/2017 14:44

Meat made me heave. The work do at Barbecoa before I had told them I was pregnant was torture.

I could hear my pulse whooshing in my ear when I laid down.

Horrific insomnia, literally from the moment of conception.

On the plus side, my immovable verrucas that I'd had for more than a decade cleared up.

Cramps! Yes what's up with that?? I get them in middle of night, then next day I have sore muscles. Is it vitamin deficiency? Must ask midwife at next appt.

Topsyloulou · 09/04/2017 18:36

I asked the midwife thinking the same thing & her helpful answer was that's it's a pregnancy thing & will stop once the baby arrives! To be fair they did but not great news to hear at 24 weeks! My calves were so sore some mornings I could barely walk.

Eveninties · 09/04/2017 18:42

Giant squawky hiccups- ALL THE TIME. I have to say I find the enormous poos quite satisfying...Blush

user1483387154 · 09/04/2017 18:54

Insomnia - 3 to 4 hrs sleep at most a night and that is interrupted
lack of patience - probably due to lack of sleep rather than pregnancy though.
Constant hunger
Feeling like I have been kicked in the foof, and bruised (but no bruises)
swollen legs/ankles
27 weeks and still sometimes struggling to believe i am actually pregnant even though I feel him moving around/kicking.

Northernlassie1974 · 09/04/2017 19:06

On both my pregnancies, early on (between about 8-14 weeks, I would get a weird buzzing sensation to one side of my lower belly. Like a mobile phone on vibrate ringing, kind of a few seconds then stop, then again etc etc. Was random, no one thing seemed to make it start, it would last for a few minutes, then stop. No midwife or googling ever could explain it. I guess it was a nerve and to do with where the baby was at that time. So weird though!

FamilySpartan · 09/04/2017 19:18

Nosebleeds. Hairy belly. So. Much. Burping.

Weird dreams- one in particular where I found myself with a brand new, rather large penis and I spent much of the dream masturbating furiously.

AgentCooper · 09/04/2017 19:20

Super hairy thighs (and nipples, sweet Jesus).

And today I cried in Sainsbury's when I saw a wee old man buying a chocolate orange.

EdgarAllenPoe · 09/04/2017 19:21

I had a terrible itchy rash on legs, hands, bump and hips, kept getting tested for oc but never quite severe enough to induce.

It all disappeared when I had him but my horrendous scratched skin instantly dried out and turned to all over body dandruff. Good thing it was January, as it looked like it was snowing wherever I was.

Eveninties · 09/04/2017 19:45

A character in a programme that I'd watched for years died, and I cried for a month. I honestly felt like someone close to me was gone, I'd wake up during the night and remember and burst into tears. I knew I was being ridiculous but I couldn't help it.

fruityb · 09/04/2017 20:50

Oh yeah the hairy belly! Mine was quite fuzzy, all gone now.

The enormous poos were satisfying evanintes lol but nonetheless terrifying at times!

Gardenbirdy · 09/04/2017 20:59

God I love mumsnet, currently pregnant with dc2 and this thread is making me feel so much better Grin
I also have sinusitis / constant bogies, thirst and skin tags.
I have lovely thick hair... but dreadful dandruff for the first time ever.
OP i had a benign tumour on my tongue in my first pregnancy... which decided to bleed uncontrollably when the baby was a week old so I ended up in A&E having it stitched. I'm hoping not to repeat that this time.

podrig · 09/04/2017 22:46

my body hair has almost entirely stopped growing ¯\(ツ)/¯

podrig · 09/04/2017 22:48

Also have a permanent stuffy nose & bloody bogeys

podrig · 09/04/2017 22:49

And sore ribs but almost entirely on the back left side Hmm

hopsalong · 10/04/2017 08:07

Secretly sort of happy to see that I am not the only pregnant woman with crusty bloody bogies! But they are getting worse (hayfever season?) and I am tired of picking them (painful!) and breathing through my mouth all night? Does anyone have any tips about how to clean the nose out? I use a neti pot but the effect is very short lived and I don't like the smell of the salty water/bogeys at all. Full-on blowing invariably leads to bleeds...

coldcanary · 10/04/2017 08:14

Oh the vivid dreams were so weird! It was like I had HD in my own head and I had a few conversations with a massively confused DH the day after any good ones that he had featured in - poor sod didn't have a clue what I was talking about Grin
On the flip side my hair is always gorgeous during pregnancy, thick, gloomy and strangely well behaved.

BertrandRussell · 10/04/2017 08:16

My hair went from curly to straight and after 20 years of regularly having to have my ears syringed I appear to have stopped making ear wax!

I reckon I win the thread.Grin

BertrandRussell · 10/04/2017 08:17

Those side effects are still there 20 years later.
