weak cervix?

During labour I tore my cervix and now have what is called, I think, an ectropus on the cervix. (THis is where cervical cells spill through the tear and blister up on the other side). I don't think it's serious but now that I'm pregnant again I'm terrified my cervix has been weakened and the pregnancy is just gonna fall out in the second trimester? Not sure whether this is a valid concern because I generally turn into a lunatic during pregnancy.

I have an incompetent cervix but I think itis a different thing.

I hav to have it sewn shut when I am pregnant.

How did they find out about it? My midwife said she hadn't heard of a cervix tearing during labout and is going to send a consultant in to my 12 wk scan to see if my cervix is shortening.

sadly I lost a baby at 19weeks. Subsequent pregancies I was monitored as your midwife is proposing and I had a suture put in.

Now have 2 adoringly frustrating children.

i have heard about a torn cervix, but not sure of the ramifications for a subsequent pregnancy...i would speak to your midwife ASAP as it is a valid concern...

So sorry to hear about your pregnancy loss but lovely that you now have two little ones. I will definitely push for regular monitoring of cervix and hope for the best
