Hi I've had some brown 'bits ' mixed into mucus yesterday and today.

I can't work out if it's normal or to ring epu?

I'm 40 and I didn't have anything like this with my first.

I would ring EPU - I think it's definitely worth getting it checked out even just for your piece of mind. Phone them and be guided by them.
I had similar and was given an appointment for the next day.

Thanks salmon.

I did and they said keep an eye on it and call mw tomorrow.

I wouldn't have said I have any real pain however I never really get period pain so I don't know if that's relevant or not.

It's now slightly red / pink when I wipe. But I don't think enough to warrant calling back?

I would call back! They won't get fed up with you ringing and it's always better to play it safe. Do what makes you comfortable OPSmile

I feel a numpty but they've offered me a scan tomorrow so we'll see.

Good luck for tomorrow. You've done the right thing

ZippyG · 03/04/2017 02:31

Any unusual discharge it is always best to be checked by your midwife.. Good luck with your scan tomorrow xx

Ekphrasis · 03/04/2017 07:21

Thanks. There was quite a lot more and dark red but only really when I went to the loo and wiped.

Nothing over night so feeling more hopeful in some ways. However fully prepared for sad news.

Hello I had brown spotting 2 weeks ago scan was normal wishing you good luck for today xx

Ekphrasis · 03/04/2017 09:25

Thank you - really wondering if it's break through bleeding, almost like a mini period. Now would be the time for my period if I hadn't been pregnant.

How did it go today OP?

7feathers · 03/04/2017 16:56

Brown means old blood. Could be anything but likely it's OK.

Worry when it's bright red and flowing. But in any case, better to be safe than sorry. GP.

Hi, mixed news. There was an embryo and a heartbeat but it only measured 5-6 weeks. 3.4 mm so apparently 5.5 wks. I could be 7+5 but that means I got a positive test at 8 dpo. Which is possible I guess? But currently measuring at least 2 weeks behind. No idea what bleed was. It was an internal scan.

I have a scan in 10 days, so we'll see then.

Wishing you good luck maybe baby will have a growth spurt xx it's not nice these early weeks very stressful (flowers)

Just for info for others in a similar situation, bleeding increased and I mc at home. It wasn't too bad as I wasn't very far along.
