Baby Back to Back at 35 Weeks

Had my midwife appointment today and all is well baby's head is down 3/5 she thinks but said he feels back to back. She wasn't worried at Allan's said he's plenty of time to shift but I'm fretting as all I've heard is horrendous birth stories of back to back babies 😱 Anyone had any experience with this? X

Hopefully he moves for you, he still has a while! I had a back to back labour with my DD. It wasn't at all bad and I managed to give birth naturally (well, with a bit of gas and air!) I don't have anything to compare it to tho as I have only given birth once! I can remember feeling like I couldn't sit down as it hurt my back an awful lot, but the gravity from standing definitely sped things up!

There is still time for the baby to
move. Currently 34+3 with dc3 who
keeps switching between head down, breech and transverse!

But from my experience the back to back labour was no different to my normal labour.

My daughter was back to back all the way through and i delivered her that way too. I had a teeny tiny bump which was explained when she was discovered to be that way.

I had my son back to back had an epidural as he pooed before he was born and I had to have sent opinion but it wasn't that bad and my epidural had worn off. Currently 36seeks pregnant now and not sure how this little one is lying at the moment. My first did go the normal way but then when my waters went he went back to back again x

My second was back to back head down nearly the entire time and then flipped around 3 days before he was born. It gave me a fright because I had nearly constant movement and then suddenly nothing. But it was just him getting ready to go! He was born at 37+5.

3 weeks until my due date.. my first was the full 2 weeks overdue. That was tough! Hears hoping these little ones come on time!!!

My dd1 was perfect position before labour and just as i was 10cm she turned sideways and i needed turning forceps to get her out. Basically dont panic because they can change position right up until last minute!

As long as she's head down I wouldn't worry too much. For the last few weeks DD2 was fully engaged and lying with her back on my right which apparently is more likely to cause a back to back labour as they have further to turn (the baby rotates clockwise in labour). She came out sunny side down in 5 pushes though no problems!

I wouldn't worry too much . Ds2 has just turned head down from being transverse at 36 weeks and is back to back but not engaged yet. I've been told he has plenty of time to move.

Ds1 I was always told was in a perfect position and engaged from about 30weeks! He turned back to back during labour! Labour did hurt a lot but was also an induction.

As long as baby is head down I wouldn't worry :)

I've had a back to back baby and also a 'normal' birth. Honestly, I don't think there was much difference in the level of pain. You just feel it in your back rather than your tummy. It through me off a bit as I found it trickier to do the breathing exercises I'd practiced as they all involved breathing into my belly. But other than that I'd say there wasn't much difference. So really try not to worry too much about it. Best of luck OP. xx

Have you seen the spinning babies website? There are things you can do to get them to turn and you have loads of time. My MW told me to always sit on a birthing ball rather than the sofa and do lots of crawling about on all fours.
