Is this labour or just my body preparing for labour.!!!

Hi, I am currently 37wks second baby having really strong BH last couple of days and today since early morning having menstrual like cramps had lower back pain lastnight which went away after awhile, also had a bit of sticky mucus the other day nothing major and wasn't bloody or pink tinged at all (Sorry for the TMI) was told 2 weeks ago baby is really low and just feel like baby is going to fall out starting to really have to hold my bump underneath when walking also having weird stabbing pains through my vagina (Sorry again for the TMI).

Sounds like your body is preparing for labour. Without sounding like a total cliche you will definitely know when you're in labour. X

You say that Glitters, but it generally never occurred to me that I was in labour with my second child! I was 12 days late and booked in for induction the following day and all night long I had the strongest urges to go go a poo and was in quite considerable discomfort. It wasn't until about 5am when my husband said 'you don't think you're in labour do you?' that it entered my head as a possibility!
In my defence, my first labour was induced so I hadn't ever experienced spontaneous labour, but clearly that instinct wasn't strong with me.

I also didn't know when I was in labour. In my defence I was only 27 weeks but I just thought my Braxton Hicks were slightly uncomfortable. Turns out they were contractions and baby was very much on the way!

I think the stabbing pains are your cervix effacing so st the very least sounds like everything is gearing up. I had loads of niggles for a week before DD2 arrived and then a very easy labour. Hopefully it will be the same for you.

Thanks for the responses currently have been admitted and am in labour so hoping baby will make an appearance soon contractions getting stronger have had some pethidine to get some rest midwife said it will either move me along or stop them here's to hoping
