Pelvic floor excerises

I've been trying to do pelvic floor excersies and every book I read tells me how important they are! I don't think I am doing it right though as my stomach clenches when I do it (can't seem to do it without clenching my tummy muscles) and then I get tummy ache, which can't be right...Any ideas?

every time you go for a wee, practise stopping yourself mid-flow a few times, holding on for longer each time. Worked for me.

stick with it - stopping when having a wee then trying to do the same movement when not having a wee iyswim. cant stress how important, i was lazy with mine and seriously literaly pmsl this weekend really not glam. and thats 2yrs post baby. am seeing clinic, etc dont mean to scare you but honestly, little for a lot !!

only do the stoppin wee thing to get an idea - don't do it too much because can get UTI.

my tummy tenses a bit when I do them but it is mainly in my fanjo and upwards that I feel it.
