Just my own theory on sex of baby & how your dates change...

I think if your due date comes earlier at dating scan it's a boy.

And if your due date goes further in future it's a girl!

This is from my limited experience of 2 children🤣.. I'm expecting no 3 & due date changed after scan from 15th July to 10th July.. therefore I think boy.

SIL had same due date by periods (spooky) & at scan due date was 16th July - so by my theory it's a girl - & at 20 week scan they are having a girl!

Anyone else agree? I like a surprise.. but it's fun trying to predict!

Nope. My dates got pushed back and it was a boy. (and DS was still 15 days later then EDD!)

Nope my due date came forward by 1.5 weeks and I'm having a girl !

My original due date was based on LMP. But I knew that wasn't right - I had longer than average cycles so had used ovulation tests. At my scan the due date got pushed back - it's a boy!

Another theory for you... My nan says if you have sex just after you ovulate then it'll be a boy because boy sperm are fast but if you do it just before then it'll be a girl because just the girl sperm are left which are slower gotta love old wives tales

Salted caramel I think there is some factual basis behind your nans theory. I think it's called the Shettles method of conceiving because girl sperm do live a bit longer than boy

SaltedCaramel, your nan's theory is probably the most famous sex selection theory in history i.e. Shettles!

Before there were other theories, his books sold millions of copies the world over.

There is some science to the theory in that female sperm is slower but live longer. So he suggested sex 2-3days before ov to get a girl on the basis that the boy sperm would be dead and sex at or just after ov for a boy as the boy sperm would win the race to the egg.

Matches my experience and the dates I were given by the us can not be true they def early.

@splinters6 well I've learnt something new! I would say I'll pay more attention to what she says in future... but she also thinks smoking and drinking during pregnancy are completely fine (each to their own) so that's why I'm a bit sceptical most of the time!!

Wat about if dates dont change at all i got my due date spot on when i went for my scan witch was really surprising didnt expect to be that right lol
