Hello. I had to get bloods done today after one sided cramps and pink discharge. Im waiting on nurse calling back with results. For 4+1 what would the expected HCG levels be? I tried google but it was giving me %s and all sorts! I just need a simple answer lol. They seen the sac and thickened lining on the internal scan, and im due back on Friday for more bloods.

The problem is that HCG levels vary by person!

They expect 1500 HCG to see a pregnancy on a scan.

I had my bloods done at 4+3 and they were 91 I though this was pretty impressive considering at that point I was 14dpo! When the doctor said they were low I panicked thinking there was something wrong and actually he just meant they were too low for a scan! The important thing is that they increase by at least 66% in 48 hours, this shows there is a successful pregnancy that they expect to be interuterine, any less increase and it indicates either ectopic or misscarriage.

I hope this helps and that everything is ok Flowers

Thank you.

They scanned me and although nothing to report in their words, they did see the potential sac. The nurse said she is viewing that as a positive as it's in the right place. So I'd be expecting a high number today? Then a increased one on Friday?

Just to give you an idea when mine was 91 on the Sunday I had a scan on the Monday and the nurse could see a very tiny bubble in the thickened lining so they said the same thing as you.

Then I had my blood done on the Tuesday and they were 285 so doctors were very happy. When they say 1500 HCG for a preganancy that means to see the sack and yolk sac also =)

Thank you. Did you do home pg tests? My nurse said if my lines we're strong my numbers should be

Levels seem to vary hugely. I had hcg tested at 4 +1 due to previous ectopic and it was 22. They basically told me it didn't look good. However it doubled in the 48 hours and am currently 10 weeks with 2 scans already.

So basically don't fixate on the number. It's more important that it increases. I was devastated by my low numbers and it was all for nothing as it turned out to be ok

OnNaturesCourse · 23/03/2017 08:16

Oh I know they vary largely. The average I've been told is 18-420 so the difference is huge!
