Hi everyone.

So yesterday I did my 1st pregnancy test did the digital one and it says im 1-2 weeks pregnant and I am also 4 days now over due.

What now? Help?

Its my first baby. We have been planning it so very happy. Obv very early days. Is the test def correct?

Do I need to do more tests? When do you ring doctors?

Just joined mumsnet, can you tell me what the week + another number means and some of the shortened words people are using?

If all goes ok pregnancy calendar says due November 24th, anyone else due november?

Sorry for going on

Thanks for reading

Call your doctor and ask them what to do. They may get you to self refer to midwife. I'm due mid November Smile

ethelfleda · 20/03/2017 15:31

And congratulations!!

arbrighton · 20/03/2017 15:33

check with gp reception, they may just give you midwives' number to book yourself in. I wouldn't have seen my GP,at all if i hadn't needed to discuss my medication

folic acid if you're not already taking it, and VitD. That's all you need, don't be sucked into the expensive pregnancy multivitamins

NovemberBaby2017 · 20/03/2017 15:38

Congratulations to you as well! Is it your first?

This is our first yes Smile

Congratulations Flowers I am due mid-November.
As previous posters have advised, best thing to do is ring your GP's reception and they will advise how to arrange your antenatal care, as it varies from place to place.
I booked my first midwife appointment for a few weeks time and I popped in to collect what they call the 'booking pack' which gives you lots of information on what you should be doing to look after yourself.
I am 5 weeks and 5 days pregnant and you will see this written as 5+5.
How are you feeling, any symptoms?

Thanks so much for the reply. Ver helpfull.

Congratulations on your news! Hopefully keep in contact with you along the way. Is this your first baby?

I'm ok thank you. Lost appetite a bit and get waves of feeling tired. Keep telling myself it's all in my mind as only 2 weeks pregnant,

Not sunk in yet. xx

Hey novemberbaby2017 and ethelreda - congratulation's to you both 😊

I also took my test and found out I was pregnant yesterday. Also my first. Spending today in a bit of a daze really....

I called the docs and was told to go in to the surgery to get an info pack with details what to do next. But, I think every region is different so just call your docs to find out.

Thanks for the links to the acronyms Westeringhome - the number plus number thing was confusing me somewhat on other posts....

jgg123 · 20/03/2017 16:31

Sorry Westeringhome - just reread and saw you are also pregnant - congrats too!!

Hi OP,

Congratulations. You know that being 1-2 weeks pregnant means you're counted as 3-4 weeks pregnant, and as your period is overdue by four days you're definitely 4 weeks pregnant, probably 4+4 going by your dates.

CB89 · 20/03/2017 18:01

Congratulations on your news.

I also had positive today and over the weekend. Making me 4w+5 💐

mummabubs · 20/03/2017 19:00

Hi Novemberbaby! Welcome to Mumsnet and congrats on your big fat positive (BFP) result! I'm pregnant with my first- 11+6 today and due in October. Just wanted to reiterate what others have said, vit D and Folic acid are all you need, your baby will take all other vits naturally from you so don't get sucked into "pregnancy" multivits. Also you've got your positive test, I personally wouldn't take any more (I stopped as soon as I got my positive result on one), otherwise you're just chucking money away to see what you already know in my humble opinion! Hope it all goes well for you and if you head to the "antenatal clubs" section you should find other mums expecting when you are 😊 xx

Congratulations all!

I'm also expecting first baby on the 21st November. Phoned doctors today and got number for midwife. Eeeeek all very new to me and exciting (although seem to not have a clue what I'm doing)
