Maternity bra???

Hi all,
I have decided i need to get new bra as my normal bra started gettting little tight and wires started digging me. So i went Debenhams( i always get mine from there), get myself measured im 40D
I was wearing 36E. The lady recommended that "I MUST WEAR MATERNITY BRA", showed me couple of Miriam Stoppard (what is the bra got to do with her?) they looked dull, apparently the lovely ones are not in stock. Went MOthercare, measured 38DD. Bought two pairs, this morning i wore them on and my ust look totally flat, and there is no support. Now after lunch, i started feeling rubbed and icthy under bust. Do you must wear underwired bra? Where to get the best supportive maternity bra. Or shall go normal underwired bra in bigger width?
I dont feel comfortable, i never this bad. Im sure its my bras not fitted well.
Any ideas?
x

don't go to mothercare imo...they measured me and it was all wrong, but never took them back and ended up just wearing them, i usually wear a 32, and they put me in a 36, so kept riding up. Wore underwired bras right up to the end of pregnancy when i was out, and just little crop tops/sports bra type things...probably not helping as i have non-existent norkage...go with what feels comfortable

there's another thread on this lurking around at the moment, if that helps

I went to John Lewis and was measured. Without the underwiring I must say that you do look a bit flat (bizzare considering my new pregnancy breast size !) but apparently wires dig into the breast tissue and cause all manner of problems to perky boobs are out !!!

I am a 32 back but very few maternity bras come in a 32 so had to get a 34. Bought my actual bras from M&S (new maternity range). They are ok but I miss my wiring.

Sigh. only 10 weeks to go.....

m&s now do moulded cup maternity bras, so they are a bit better than just a flat non wired bra.

ahh..maybe thats why they put me in a 36...it is lovely to be able to wear bras that give me a bit of shape again...and that don't stick out from the top of your lowish-cut top! am treating myself this week to lovely, sexy new lingerie!

M&S maternity bra

did have one of those from m & s, but found that it gave bugger all shape too (good job at concealing cold nips though!)

skirmish · 05/03/2007 14:16

oh..not that one, that actually looks ok in the scheme of things

The M&S one is padded for a bit of shape and quite comfortable too. Still not the same shape as my old pre pregnancy padded/underwired ones !
