aspirin in pregnancy

Just wondering if anyone has taken aspirin after recurrent miscarriage?
Have had two miscarriages over past 7 months or so. Pregnant again, have yet to book in and just wondering if aspirin is of any benefit? Have not had bloods taken for aps etc

I would discuss it with your GP or midwife - I was put on aspirin at 12 weeks as I ticked 2 of the risk factors for high blood pressure and pre-eclampsia as apparently there might be a link in preventing them later on in pregnancy but that's the only benefit I'm aware of in taking aspirin.

Yes will be checking with obs when see them, just wondering if anyone had any experience of it, perhaps it is only used in conjunction with heparin for confirmed clotting disorders.
I know it's used after twelve weeks for people at high risk of developing preeclampsia, was wondering about it's use before that

i know of 2 people who took aspirin due to multiple miscarriages. I am also on aspirin and have been from 12 weeks due to higher BMI.

It encourages blood flow and has found to be successful with history of miscarriages.

I've been taking it since TTC this baby.

I've had 2 miscarriages and a full term stillbirth so my consultant recommended it as did a few midwives.

Hasn't caused me any issues at all and I'm currently 12 weeks.

I believe (though I'm not medical) that during conception and the early stages of pregnancy by keeping your blood thinner it increases your chances of successful pregnancy past the early weeks and aids with the placenta - I stress I am not medical so just what I've been told.

F as TTC and started taking it

I've been taking it since my BFP. Had 4 early mc last year and my ds (age 4 now) was born at 27 weeks due to a clot on the placenta. I'll be taking it right through. I'm 10+6 now and everything seems to be going to plan.

I took it along with tinzaparin injections as I was at risk of a clot, because I was stuck in bed with hyperemesis and had a raised BMI. Weirdly my consultant had to prescribe it as no pharmacy would sell it to me as a pregnant woman, based on advice that has been out of date for at least a decade. My consultant was very frustrated that pharmacists haven't got the message that not only is it safe for women to take aspirin in pregnancy, for some it is necessary.

Thanks for replies, had you all tested positive for clotting disorder or just taking it as a precaution anyway? Do you need to take it until term or stop in third trimester?

I'm taking it daily until delivery as my PAPP A hormone is low so I'm at risk of having a smaller baby & developing high blood pressure in later pregnancy.
My dr told me on the 300 women who had been prescribed aspirin in their study, all 300 had normal blood pressure.
I'll just do what I'm told is best for me & the baby 👶🏻
