I'm not sure how it works in your area but in my London borough specifically, they have the same group of MWs on rotation for the labour ward, MLU, ante natal clinics (so GP) and homebirths. So it's a bit pot luck but the two that turned up last time were absolutely lovely - though I'd never met them before!

Totally understand re pool. You have to do what makes you feel comfortable. Do check out the maternity mats from Boots - they're really good.

I'm not sure about pre 37 weeks. Obviously if you spontaneously went into labour and delivered before you could move, it would have to be ok but I think you and baby would need to be transferred in.

ok thanks for the info. hope she stays in until 37 weeks then! silly bodies. pains have eased up now. she is kicking up a storm though. just back pain. maybe this is just how my braxton hicks will be now. i and them with the boys. but can't remember what they were like near the end. or this sort of time anyways.

hope you feel better soon too

If you think you are in labour prior to 37 weeks then I think it really would be a good idea to call the hospital as baby may need steroids. The steroids can make a massive difference to how baby copes when born if they do decide to arrive early.

I'm almost certain that a home birth would be a complete no go where baby is early.

miserableandinpain · 12/03/2017 17:22

no i think it is just really bad braxton hicks. they have calmed down now. think i have just over done it recently.

In the bath again. Might go get checked out tomorrow. Could it be really really slow labour? Or maybe baby is engaging. Had funny twinges in my pelvis last few hours.

3rd labours are notoriously stop start. However you probably should go and get checked out as this has been going on a while.

miserableandinpain · 12/03/2017 21:40

Yeah hubby isnt home yet. Boys are sleeping. Will go first thing in the morning
It hasnt stepped up so maybe im thinking about it too much..?

Just to give a bit of hope, dc3 arrived at 36wks+4, after dcs1&2 were 11&5 days overdue. Best of luck to you all.

miserableandinpain · 12/03/2017 23:15

Thanks daisy. Did you stay in hospital long with dc3.

I just put radian b on my back and its helped the back pain. Wish i had done it earlier.

How was the night miserable? I have very similar complaints as you and feel completely on edge, like I'll go into labour any minute. I woke several times through the night with unidentifiable problems - just the general sense of something being amiss and fully expecting to feel a contraction. The pressure in my bum is unbelievable!

Agree it's the annoying stop start of third labours. And this is both our third child Envy DC1 was literally nothing until induction at 42 weeks, DC2 was nothing and then spontaneous labour at 38 weeks. What is it with third labours?!

daisydalrymple · 13/03/2017 07:26

Hi miserable, no I had him at 945pm and went home the next day. He weighed 7lb 2.5 and all obs normal. (I'd had a small bleed a few weeks earlier, and when I'd gone in I was having mild contractions, so I'd been given steroids at that time).

miserableandinpain · 13/03/2017 07:39

Hi guys. I managed to get some sleep but have contractions and period pain feelings this morning. Hubby is gettong ready and we are going to go to the hospital and get checked over just to be sure...maybe its a really long slow labour..?

Judt called triage and the suggested i take paracetamol Confused and wait for my appointment tomorrow and have a stress free day. And call them if anything changes. And sounds like baby is just moving position.

Hi guys. Hope you are all ok. I am 36 +5. Just had my lovely midwife visit at hkme and she said we are good to go if baby comes early for a home birth! Yay! Bring it on baby.

How are you all doing if still following?
