Long maternity dresses for a wedding?

Hi all,

Been hunting for a dress to wear to a wedding. Since my feet and ankles are now cankles and big fat trotters heels are out of the question so looking for a long dress that I can get away with flat comfy shoes.

Hunted all over the internet ans can't find anything for less than 100 quid, with impending mat pay that just too much - any suggestions?

Thanks!

I found maxi skirts + maternity tops a godsend when pregnant, particularly as each one has more options for wearing again than a dress does. I found I was able to wear non-maternity maxi skirts (usually a size larger than normal) under my bump so that gave me more choice in terms of budget too as I wasn't restricted to maternity ranges.

(I'm now finding the same style combo useful post-pregnancy as I can wear breastfeeding tops with maxi skirt of choice, and not restricted to nursing dresses which are even more limited than maternity!)

Asos have quite a few eg
Do you have any style/colour preferences?

Creatureofthenight · 25/02/2017 22:30

There's a few on ASOS for under £100.

Asos have great affordable maternity fashion, also eBay is your friend. Second hand Matenity dresses tend to be hardly worn & a fraction of the price. Check out, serephine, Tiffany rose & isablella Oliver on eBay :) hope you find something

Maybe something like this?

The one size multiway dresses are long, will fit a bump and you can get them cheaply. I have never been pregnant but have pregnant BMs who will wear them - got them £30 from the daint yard on etsy if cost is an issue.

Although possibly check the bridesmaids aren't wearing them as they're very common!!

Try Phase eight when Debenhams/HoF have a sale on. They're not specifically maternity dresses but they often do some lovely maxi dresses in heavy fabric which is gathered under the boobs and gives lots of space for a growing bump - I've had one 'event' dress from them each time around.

I saw a couple of seraphine maxis for about £50 today.

If you're happy with second hand you can usually pick up seraphine and Tiffany rose dresses on eBay fairly cheaply. Otherwise I second Asos and the seraphine sale!

I wore a knee length tiffany rose one it was 140. Like you I couldn't justify spending on the full length but I wish I had.

ASOS do have some bargains but you get what you pay for. I'd be wary unless you're model proportioned and tall.

You're only going to do it once, can't you beg borrow or steal for the longer tiff rose one? You might get lucky and get one second hand though.

Jojo's is another option, something like this? www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/floral-maxi-dress-d5546.html

I'm in Ireland but just got a lovely full length dress on pamelascott.ie, bought a size up from my usual and altered the straps slightly to bring the empire line up for bump. Cost €70.
