Increased thirst 32 weeks

Hi all

I'm now 32 weeks and I have noticed that I am drinking way more water then usual. On average, during the past week or so, I've been drinking 10 pints water over 24 hours. Before this I would say I would drink between 5 and 6 pints. Is this normal for third trimester or should I be a bit more concerned?

Thanks in advance for any advice xx

I was extremely thirsty at that point in pregnancy. I rang the midwife who just told me to drink more water

Hi, thank you for getting back to me. So your midwife wasn't worried?

Might be worth you asking about gestational diabetes. It's a progressive problem that peaks between weeks 32 and 36 weeks.

Hi castle, thanks for posting. I think I will call my midwife tomorrow x

No she wasn't but it's always worth mentioning any changes to the midwife just in case x

I started getting really thirsty about that point (I'm now 37 weeks). Midwife wasn't and isn't concerned, baby is moving and growing just fine. Hope you got to speak to your midwife and feel better x

I'm 33 weeks and have been really thirsty too since last week. I was tested for GDM at 28 weeks and it was negative, so maybe it's just a normal thing.
