I thought it was and have been using it to prevent stetchmarks but a beautician told me the other day not to use any oils other than olive because of the essential oils and stuff mixed in. Anyone know?

You mean the lovely smelling, yellow oil?

Yes, it's safe - I checked with the therapist at my local Clarins beauty centre and she assured me that not only is it safe but it is also used as part of their pre natal body treatment. Not all of their products are safe mind you, so it's always best to check first.

Partly answering, partly bumping you.

I'm certainly not an expert, but I think there are certain essential oils to avoid, but you don't have to avoid ALL essential oils. Clary sage was one to avoid I think - I'm sure others will know more. I had pg massage with my 1st pg using oils (rose, i think, among others) - and it was lurrrvely.

I've used it throughout both pregnancies and have always been assured by clarins staff that they are trained in all products and assured its safe.

I know they are fundamentally salespeople but i wouldn't imagine they would lie about something like that.

Hope this helps!

Used it throughout pregnancy #2, smells good but didn't prevent stretch marks though!

sfxmum · 02/03/2007 20:50

used twice a day from before day one no stretch marks, same for my sisters 2 pregnancies

lazyemma · 02/03/2007 21:41

stretch marks are influenced by genetics and nothing else. If you're going to get them, it doesn't matter how much of any sort of oil you rub in, you'll get them anyway. As I can attest.
