Pregnancy

37 weeks and ate undercooked salmon

I'm really panicking now. Had some salmon for lunch that I don't know if it was fully cooked. It was cold by the time I ate it, but we were talking before we sat down so it may have gone cold then. I only had a few bites before realising and then put it in the microwave. It was one of those packaged portions that you cook in the bag and have their own sauces. Is there any risk to baby?

At 37 weeks, baby is all finished and just growing a bit more while waiting to come out! Don't worry about it x

Can't you eat raw smoked salmon anyway when pregnant ?

This will cause no harm whatsoever

You can eat salmon raw. you are absolutely fine!

It's highly unlikely that anything bad will happen (please note I am not a medical professional). It was a bit, it's not like you've been eating uncooked fish every single day for the whole pregnancy.

NHS does say smoked salmon is ok to eat.

Every pregnant woman I've spoken to has broken a food rule at some point though! I've had medium rare steak a handful of times, which I don't think I was technically supposed to.
