Dating confusion!

The test said that I was 2-3 weeks pregnant but the midwife I spoke to dated it from start of last period, which is approx 6 weeks now.
So which one do I track to? Am I six weeks or three weeks pregnant?

As far as I'm aware you use the date of your LMP - this us what the midwife will do, too, until you have a dating scan at 10-12 weeks. So you are 6 weeks pregnant, congratulations! 😊 xx

LMP is the correct date.

OP, a digital pregnancy test will pick up on the duration that certain hormone levels first occurred, i.e. from conception.
However, with regards to dating the FULL length of your pregnancy/ gestation, dating will be worked out from your LMP as it is related to your natural cycle length.
So, both are right but the date your midwife has given you is most accurate with regards to gestational growth stages and due date.

Thanks for your replies, that's cleared that one up Smile
