Midwife really told me off today. So honestly how many of you carried your maternity notes everywhere with you?

Took them with me if I was a long way from home (ie 200 miles). Tried to remember to take them if I stayed away overnight, mostly forgot though.

lovelymoo · 28/02/2007 19:49

I did for both my Pg's
Look at the halo above my head

Lusciousladylush · 01/03/2007 11:58

I got told my by my midwife that you should carry them regardless but more so if you work far from your home or have a long commute incase you are involved in an accident and are unconscious and unable to respond to simple questions on the state of your pregnancy.

Since then I've carried thema round relgiously for both pregnancies as I have horrible train and tube journeys every day. Consequently they are very grubby, dogeared, and look as old as me - but am too nervous not to carry them around incase I'm in a train crash or pass out on the tube!

compo · 01/03/2007 11:59

Only if we went on holiday. I took them to each midwife appointment but that was it.

lucykate · 01/03/2007 12:00

i did, but i have a history of bleeding in pregnancy, m/c's, and also have a heart condition so never felt safe not having them with me.

Aloha · 01/03/2007 12:03

I did first time as I had complete placenta praevia that could have led to massive bleeding at any time. But with dd, no, of course I didn't.

Enid · 01/03/2007 12:05

I left mine in my car

FoghornLeghorn · 01/03/2007 12:06

Nope ! I only ever took them with me when I had midwife/GP/hosp apt.

But then, I am the person who was visiting my parents who live in a different county, 5 days overdue with DD2 with no notes, no bags, nothing ...... when my waters suddenly burst

SparklyGothKat · 01/03/2007 12:10

I lost mine with dd1 as we moved house the week before I went into premature labour, I got a huge telling off.

BLWisbest · 01/03/2007 12:15

I carried mine everywhere.

But then again, I had an obsession with going into early labour. Well say obsession, more like wishful thinking.

funnypeculiar · 01/03/2007 12:18

god no, didn't even think of it - & had complicated pg first time round ...

trixymalixy · 01/03/2007 12:35

Erm, no. I managed to lose mine!

sandcastles · 01/03/2007 12:38

Yes, I did. Don't they tell you that you should?

I started showing signs of Pre eclampsia at 31 weeks.

Ellieump · 01/03/2007 12:41

have to admit that i do this time, but only cos i got told off so much for not having them with me when pg with ds

foxtrot · 01/03/2007 12:42

Everywhere? All the time? With one or two other children to lug about too? Not me. Did take them if i was staying away from home though.

Blackduck · 01/03/2007 12:58

Yes - DP used to nag me...I even used to carry them in my caot pocket ;when walking the dog

LieselVentouse · 01/03/2007 12:59

I keep them in the car just in case.

DizzyBint · 01/03/2007 13:00

no. just to appointments.

Egypt · 01/03/2007 13:00

left mine in bedside drawer in jamaica. mw not best pleased. hotel ACTUALLY sent them to me to my utter disbelief.

Egypt · 01/03/2007 13:02

here in singapore dont even get any. all kept at your obstetrician. you have a tiny red appointment book which i guess would be the link to your doctor if someone has to rush you in an emergency and your non compus-mentus i guess.

Chillout · 01/03/2007 13:04

I flew abroad and airport security swabbed mine for traces of explosives?!

bundle · 01/03/2007 13:04

just took them to appts but did take them with me to san francisco when i was 27 weeks with dd1...and called mw from hotel as i felt peeky (was told to rest..)
