How do I change midwives?

My GP practice only has one midwife. I saw her for my booking in and didn't like her at all: she was flappy, disorganised and didn't listen to a word I said. This is baby #4, I know what my issues are likely to be and she paid no attention, just focussed on telling me to take folic acid and not smoke.

I don't trust her to look after my baby and I and after a close call with baby #3 in the latter stages of pregnancy I want to feel safe.

How can I change midwives? If I call my hospital can I see someone there instead? Or go to another GP practice for my pregnancy? Anyone know what my options are?

Most areas operate some form of choose and book. I'd try maternity services at your hospital for advice.
