Brown blood - 20 weeks?

Hi,

I went for a wee this morning and when I wiped there was some brown blood. It wasn't by any means red or bright but it's never happened before. Should I be worried? What should I do? Or just wait and see?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Ring your midwife or pop up to the maternity day care.

I've just been for another wee and it didn't happen - do you still think I should get checked out? Don't want to over react....

ring your midwife and stay safe.

I'd always check, just to be on the safe side

It's probably fine but get checked.
Sometimes this happens after people have sex, you could even have a UTI but not feel it yet so just get checked!

Yes we did have sex last night, but it doesn't usually happen... I've text my midwife to see what she thinks, thanks all x

Always better to be safe and get checked out if you have any concerns at all xx

I had this with both my pregnancies (now 5 and 1). Got checked each time and all was fine. I remember it happening both times around the 20 week mark just after my 20wk scan!

Sunshinegirl82 · 09/02/2017 14:48

Have you had your 20 week scan? Do you know where your placenta is located? I had a couple of bleeds at this stage caused by a low lying placenta. Everything was fine in the end but it's worth running it past your midwife or calling triage/day assessment just in case.

TwinkleStars15 · 09/02/2017 14:58

My 20 week scan is on Monday. Midwife hasn't replied... I'll give it another hour and call her. I just don't want to overreact as it's not red or bright, first time mum though so not sure!

What was the verdict?

TwinkleStars15 · 10/02/2017 20:03

Midwife never called me back, so called the triage number and they told me not to worry.... Got my 20 week scan on Monday Smile

Good news. Always best to leave it to the professionals x
