34+5 weeks, bad period type cramps

Hope someone might be able to help!

I'm 34+5 and for the past few days I've been getting progressively worse period type cramps in my lower abdomen, coupled with an ache in between my legs (is this pelvic pain?) and a general feeling of not being like 'myself' (hyper emotional).

Is this normal for the end of the third trimester or should I call my midwife? I really don't want to waste their time but I just don't feel right.

So far I've had a pretty symptom-less pregnancy, so I find it hard to know what's worth contacting medical staff about.

Thanks!

Definitely call your midwife, sounds like early labour - this was exactly how mine started. Hope everything is ok
