Yes, It appears like a little flicker on the screen ❤️ It's magic.

We didn't see a heartbeat at 6 weeks but did around 8 weeks ish. I'm 34 weeks pregnant currently so nothing was going wrong, just a bit early still. Go in expecting not to see the heartbeat (so it doesn't cripple you with an anxiety if you don't, like it did me) and if you do see a heartbeat it's a bonus :)

We have a 7 week scan at our clinic following IVF. They don't like to do it earlier than that as you can't always detect the heartbeat, then they have to wait and re-scan. So I would wait a week.

I had a scan at 6 week and we saw and heard the heartbeat. It was wonderful.

At 7 weeks I had an early scan and saw the heartbeat. Good luck ☺

6 weeks is right on the borderline for the heartbeat starting. If your dates are a couple of days out, you might cause yourself a lot of worry. Personally I'd book it for a little bit later.

I'd wait until 8 weeks because at that point you will get a more conclusive answer.

Even at 7 weeks if your uterus is very tilted sometimes they can find it difficult to get a good look and see the heartbeat. That means you could pay for the scan only to leave not knowing whether everything is OK.

Also at 8 weeks the stats are pretty good if a heartbeat is seen for the pregnancy continuing.

I had to go through a scan at 6 weeks then waiting until 7.5 weeks as they couldn't see the fetal pole or heartbeat at the earlier scan. It's horrid. So this pregnancy I opted to wait until I couldn't bear it any longer and caved at 10 weeks!

Yes 2 heartbeat, twins

We saw a heartbeat at 6+4 and it was such a relief!
We're having another at 9+6 too though... anxious? Me?!

Pigglypoo · 27/01/2017 12:36

I had a scan at 6 weeks and they saw a flicker but weren't sure it was the heart beat. I went back yesterday at 7 weeks and 4 days and we saw and heard it...queue tears!

I waited until 8 weeks just because statistically if you see a heartbeat at 8 weeks you are 98% likely to go on to have a normal pregnancy.
A close friend of mine had an early scan at 6 weeks, saw a heartbeat then went back for another at 8 and had sadly miscarried, so although another 2 weeks may feel a lifetime away its worth the wait for the extra reassurance.
