Had my six week scan today, they did normal ultrasound scan followed by an internal, both showed a sac sized to six weeks but no heart beat.

Have an appointment to come back in two weeks for another scan. Feeling a bit mixed - I would be 6+4 from the date of my last period, however fairly sure that hubby I didn't actually get up to anything until the week before Xmas. Which would make sense right....?

They also mentioned I have a cyst on one of my ovaries. Not sure what that means....?

Don't worry about not seeing a heartbeat this early. I had the same - had an early scan which showed just a sac. Went back a couple weeks later & saw a teeny beating blob on the screen which was the heartbeat. I know it's unnerving not seeing much or being told a lot at this stage but try not to worry - it's normal.

As for the cyst, you might want to ask next time you go back / midwife when you first see her / a Dr if you need to see one before seeing anyone else again. Mostly just to explain it a bit better for you.

Thanks, I'm trying to tell myself everything I'll be okay - but your mind goes into overdrive. I've been feeling naseaus all this week, the same as I did for DC1 - so taking that as a positive.

Was having an early scan due to needing to start clexane for pregnancy, given the results I was advised to come back in two week and we'd talk about clexane then. Have just had a call from the hospital to come back in tomorrow now to discuss with consultant, not sure what that means....

I had clexane injections after the birth. Perhaps they don't want to give it to yoy yet until after the second early scan. Try not to worry. I know its easier said than done. I hope your appointment goes well tomorrow Flowers

The cyst on your ovary is completely normal - its just showing where the egg was released from

I had the exact same hon. I went for scan at 6w 2d and the sonographer found the gestational sac and yolk sac but couldn't find a heartbeat. I went back the last week at 7w 1d and seen the heartbeat clear as day!! Was amazing. Try not to worry too much hon - easier said than done I know. Have everything crossed for you!! 🍀🍀 xXx

I was told the exact same thing on Saturday. Only my baby is a little bigger and I saw a heartbeat. Try not to worry. It's more likely that you are only 4 weeks pregnant and a heartbeat forms at the end of the 5th week. The cyst is completely normal too, and I have one too. It's actually a really good sign that you released a good egg. 😊

Congratulations on your pregnancy. X

Thanks for the replies. I'm reading everything I can get my hands on currently, and trying to stay as balanced as possible.

Attended the hospital today to see the consultant, and they've decided to start me on clexane straight away. I'm taking this as a positive, as if they were thinking I am likely to miscarry they wouldn't want to give me blood thinning mess, would they...?

One week, six days and counting!?!

Oh I would see that as a positive too. I'm glad everything went OK. X
