Would love to see scan pics from about 9+5

Hello!

I've just booked in for an early scan next week, as I'm feeling very anxious and hoping it will help me know for sure if things are going well or not.

I'll be 9+5 on the day of the scan, and would love to know what to expect to see (if all is well)!

I tried googling, but it seems to throw up later/earlier scan pictures and I'd just like to hear some first-hand experiences.

If you wouldn't mind sharing your scan pic from around that time, that would be super! (Also happy to get DMs if you'd rather).

Any other experiences of early scans would be appreciated too.

I had an early scan around 8 weeks and tbh she just looked like a kidney bean.
I'm sure there will be a bit more of an obvious baby shape by 9+5 as by my 12 wk scan she looked like a baby.

Hehe, a lovely little kidney bean! It really varies depending where you look, one site showed a picture that they said was 9 weeks, but the source it linked to showed that it was actually nearly 12 weeks!

The scan place I booked has a picture of a very human-like scan, but since the viability scans run from 8-11 weeks, I imagine it's at the top end to encourage expectant mums to book

Aw guys! Thanks, look at those sweet little jelly beans! (12 weeks is much more than jelly bean, eh? It progresses so incredibly quickly.)
These pics give me a much more realistic perspective, the scans on the surgery's website are obviously best possible examples (see attached).

When I say "best" of course I mean clarity and view of all limbs, head, etc. Obviously to you (and to me!) our own scans will be the best thing we've ever seen!

I'm hoping to have one as I'm a bit anxious too but want to be prepared!

There are some good youtube videos you can watch of peoples scans- my little bean was asleep though so all I saw was the heart beating! Maybe have a bit of sugar before you go in if you want to see him/her be active lol.

thelionqueen mine was external at this stage and was a paid for private scan.

This was ours at 9+2, trans abdominal scan but I am a fair bit overweight! Surprised I could see as much as I did to be honest and she must have had a growth spurt because just under 2 weeks later she was measuring at 12+4!

Thanks Penny I'm trying to hold out til 8w but the days are dragging so much. I know no one enjoys smears but it took me a good while to work up to mine so the thought of an internal worries me a bit!

Here is mine at 7+5 (the wee bean in the bottom right hand corner); then again at 10+3. The 10+3 was a particularly good pic as we got another one which looked more 'bean-like' x

Mine was a trans-vaginal scan, done by a consultant.

Lionqueen I believe mine will be trans-vaginal, going from the blurb on the website. I'm not too squeamish about that (although stupidly my first thought was "I'd better I won't be on my period..." Duh!)

Twins billy! I'm crossing my fingers I'll see two little humans too, actually - although no twins in my family so I'd have to be extremely lucky! They're all over DH's side but it doesn't run down the paternal line apparently.

This was mine at 8 + 3. Was trans vaginal by ginecologist. Even found the heart beating, incredible. The next is 14 +3 normal scan. But ginecologist done a little 3D on it.

I had one at 8 and a half weeks and he was just a blob, but he was the most beautiful and special blob in the world. We spent hours admiring that little picture.

I had a scan around 10 weeks and we could see heartbeat and even baby moving! So you will actually see a lot and pic might not capture it all. Good luck, I am going for 12 week scan tomorrow)
