I'm 10+3 and by 5pm at night I look like I'm 6 months pregnant including have a waddle as I am so uncomfortable and bloated. Is there anything I can do to help myself? Going for a girls weekend next weekend and totally dreading it as can't sit still long and am miserable xx

I'm 19+1 and for me it hasn't got any better. Midwife says its normal. I only have a small bump with a bit of podge in the morning, after dinner I look massive! Peppermint tea sometimes gives some relief, and I'm starting to figure out that I feel better if I've not overeaten that day. I'm sure others will have some good tips so I'll hang around!

Peppermint tea, not eating gassy foods (beans, cabbage, sugar for me), small meals, no fizzy drinks, sipping water, and exercise/walking tends to help get rid of trapped wind which is what the bloating is.

Thanks! Sounds about right as tonight I ate some Haribo then had beans for dinner. Will definitely avoid! X

For me nothing worked and I was throwing up daily and couldn't eat anything. I was exactly the same with the bloating and couldn't do my work trousers up! It soon wore off around 13 weeks for me but then I started to get a bit of a bump.

I should say I was still bloated but avoiding those things stopped me having a massive bloat as opposed to a medium one! Happily, chocolate seems ok but haribo etc are terrible for me

You can release some of the gas by going on all fours with your head down and your bum up. Wiggle a little... beat do it away from the window. This really helped me

Thanks everyone. Hopefully today will be better than I have been x

Activated charcoal is brilliant for bloating and uncomfortable wind, and is safe for use during pregnancy. It's working great for me.

What is 'activated charcoal' hedgehog? Been loads better tonight having not had beans and sugar! Plan to google what other foods cause wind and avoid!
