Hi, I have my 12 week scan in 2 weeks and I was wondering if anyone knows if you have to or how much you have to pay in Scotland for the pictures?

I'm not sure what it would be in Scotland but when I received my date for my 12 week scan it had the cost on there...you could always right the hospital and ask if you are unsure Smile

Thanks :) I've not received a letter yet. My midwife told me when I was in the phone to her so I'll wait until I receive my letter and see :)

I didn't pay anything in Glasgow but there was a box for donations which was fairly empty.

Bloopbleep · 17/01/2017 10:28

Should've said didn't have to pay anything, we left a donation

raviolidreaming · 17/01/2017 10:50

Also in Glasgow, and asked for a donation.

Shainamarpia · 17/01/2017 11:15

Thanks ladies. As it happens I've just received my letter through the post like 5 mins ago haha. It says that I'll get 3 and can leave a donation :) I've heard some right horrors about people having to pay up to £10 for one photo in England Shock

In the south of England it cost £10 for 3. We could pay by card though. Maybe take a bit of change just in case, or ask on a local baby group on Facebook or similar.

arbrighton · 17/01/2017 12:04

paid £2 per print in Cheshire. All info on letter though and they outlined what they use it for- basically getting better scanners etc.
Got one for me and one for my mum as it's her first grandchild. Of course, it looks like a small alien and every other scan, ever, but it's my small alien!

GinIsIn · 17/01/2017 12:10

£5 for 3 pics, central london

harleysmammy · 17/01/2017 18:40

£3 for 3 photos in Wales. We paid £3 for both 12 week and 20 week scans and got 10 photos on each scan

vfoster · 17/01/2017 22:14

I'm in Cheshire and we had to put £6 in a machine and got a little ticket. It said we would get 2 pictures for that but we got about 5!

Acorncat · 17/01/2017 22:53

There's signs up saying that they'd like a donation but then just give you the photos without mentioning it so I haven't paid for any of mine. Too distracted by the scan!

katonic · 17/01/2017 23:26

It was £4 for 1 picture at mine, outer London! Feels like daylight robbery! And the sonographer managed to crease it up when he put it in the folder....

cornflakes91 · 18/01/2017 05:27

£4 per picture, Notts!

catx1606 · 18/01/2017 13:17

£5 per picture in chelmsford, best to ring up first and check

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/01/2017 17:24

Also south (kent) and pics are free. Tho does say donation box at reception

NorfolkEnchance · 18/01/2017 17:26

I was one of the horrors! £10 for ONE picture in Coventry.

gincamelbak · 18/01/2017 17:29

£1 per photo in Perth. Although it ended up being £1 for half a dozen each time because the administration person thought it was a rip off as not all the scan shots were "good" by her opinion.

drinkyourmilk · 18/01/2017 17:57

Was free in West Sussex, and no donation box that I could see.

sailorcherries · 19/01/2017 21:44

Free in Glasgow (PRM) and there wasn't a donation box to be seen.

ConvincingLiar · 19/01/2017 21:51

£3 in Wales, coins required.

Scotmum83 · 19/01/2017 22:04

Free in Aberdeen.

elliejjtiny · 20/01/2017 01:04

I had to pay £6.50 for 1 photo or £10 for 2 with DS5. With DS4 I had to pay for the 12 week scan but at the 20 week scan they discovered he had a cleft lip so all scan photos were free after that. DS4 is 3 now and I'm still not sure whether to be grateful or offended!
