Is it ok to eat in pregnancy? I think I avoided it in my last 2 - but I've looked at the ingredients and it just seems to be philadelphia type cheese and garlic.

Have a bit of a craving for some!

Yeah it's fine - just things like brie/camembert etc to worry about. The university of sheffield does a really good page on safe cheeses when pg.

yes! all cheese is fine unlss it is not pasteurised
I wish this cheese thing would get a grip

Various unpasteurised hard cheeses are still fine - e.g. parmesan and gruyere. Feta is a bit more of a question mark - depends on what country it is made in. Manchego and stilton and blue veined cheeses should be avoided. Selfridge's cheese counter in Manchester (assume same elsewhere has brill clear labelling as to whether the cheeses are pasteurised or not).

though strangely enough it does not seem to mention roule anywhere - though would assume it is same as boursin/cream cheese

I know coddy but I can't work out how to tell if the cheese is pasteurised or not! I looked everywhere on the label.

The irony is that during my pegnancy with ds2 I was in France in my first trimester- found a yummy cheese (hard) ate loads of it then found out it was unpasteurised. Durrr.

If a cheese is unpasteurised it has to be labelled as such by law so it would be safe to assume that if it doesn't say unpasteurised on the label it is pasteurised.

Jimjams, any hard cheese is ok, even if it's unpasteurised. Thank god, as I had major parmesan cravings throughout my pregnancy. Enjoy the roule too.
