Baby movements - how do you know what's normal?

I'm 29 weeks and I can't really tell if there's a pattern to the movement. Some days bump is quieter than others and movement varies in terms of time of day too.

So how do I know if I need to worry about reduced movements??

I don'the know and I would love to know! I'm 27 weeks and bump has busyour days and quiet days. I have kick counter bracelet which helps keep track of daily movement, but I might ask my midwife on Thursday.

I'm 37 weeks and still haven't noticed a pattern - it's mentally exhausting!

You dont. You drive yourself mad until the baby is born with the occasional visit to the hospital for reasurrance
I am almost 37 weeks and I still see no pattern and worry daily.
When I understand movement monitoring is important, I also think that the current approach puts way too much pressure on expecting mums, at least this is how I feel

My due date is next Saturday and I haven't been able to establish a pattern either. Some days she does nothing but wriggle round and then will have a lazy day. I always feel some movement within a period of 2-3 hours though. It is always on my mind - as pp says, it's exhausting!! Looking forward to having her in my arms, and a whole host of other things to fret over Grin

I couldn't agree more! My baby has no pattern and between that and an anterior placenta I am spending nearly all day every day thinking about movement. It makes the days go really really slowly as I'm always aware of when the last movement was! Interestingly my mum swears she never felt me or my sister during pregnancy (twins) and no one bartered an eye lid. Better to be over cautious I guess!
