Is it safe to eat pre-packed meat? I've been craving luncheon meat and piccalilli sandwiches!

The advise is to avoid all deli meats, unless heated. I imagine they're fairly crap heated...

Not entirely true, if it's something like bog standard ham it's fine. It's stuff that is only cured like chorizo that COULD pose a risk

And isn't luncheon meat the stuff in a can that's therefore been heated to a high temperature anyway. Not really a deli thing!

Even cured is fine if you freeze it for four days first.

Luncheon meats, ham, chicken etc is perfectly fine- see NHS website. The ones you can't have are cold cured meats like chorizo, prosciutto as they l haven't been fully cooked.

Enjoy your sandwich!

Anything that's cooked rather than just cured is absolutely fine.
