What do you really need lots of for a newborn?!

I'm due my 2nd baby in May and trying to get prepared but I can't for the life of me remember what the most used things were that we had first time round (nappies being the exception!). I do remember being given a lot of "outfits" that didn't get a lot of use but in terms of other stuff what would you say would be the thing you would most stock up on!! My mind seems to have blocked out the practicalities of the first few months with my first born !

Muslin cloths!

Feeding bibs
Baby gros
Vests

Muslin

Lanisoh (or however you spell it) if your BF. Went through buckets of the stuff

Nappies, something to wear, a sling. That's about it.

Nappies
Wipes
Sling
Lansinoh
Breast pads
Netflix
Loads of snacks for you
Vests, leggings, socks
Coffee

Vests and babygros,
Sheets or things to use as sheets,
Maternity pads and nipple pads,
Food that is both easy to cook and easy to eat

Hand cream and biscuits.
Sleep suits, crib sheets and muslin cloths.

Gin

Snacks, tea coffee and cake! For you and the visitors!!
Wipes!

Vests and babygrows (my very sicky dc's went though about 20 changes per day)

My babies always reacted to disposable wipes so we either used cotton wool or stacks of cheapie washable 'wipes' (20p facecloths from home bargains).

Thanks everyone - muslin cloths are definitely going to be bought in large quantities, I think we used them for everything last time!

Somewhere for the baby to sleep (crib/cot/Moses basket)- appropriate bedding (sheets/cellular blankets)
Pram/travel system
Car seat
Vests
Sleep suits
Cardigan/snowsuit

A way to feed the baby (breast pads if bfeeding/ bottles, steriliser, formula if bottle feeding)

I am also due my second in a couple of weeks, and this is pretty much the stuff that I have accumulated I had nothing at all left from my first!!

I'm at my first baby an she's just 5 weeks, so things that I use the most are long sleeve body's , short sleeves ones and pijamas .I guess since first few months baby will mostly be at home sleeping there's no need in buying to many costumes and stuff.We got so many clothes at the baby shower that we can't use yet as she was very small.Don't over spend as you will adapt as you go once you see your baby's needs.Ah get a nice cosy blanket for the baby;):

Snacks for you and comfy clothes (for when still fat) you can nap in/go out in/have visitors in.

Maternity pads - lots of them!

New mattress for any basket/cot.
New car seat if the old one is past it's use by date.

Breastpads
Baby grows in various sizes e.g. 3-6 months, 6-9 months & 9-12, 12-18months etc

I'm due my second in 9 weeks. Luckily we kept everything from last time, and they're the same sex so lots of reusable clothes etc. The thing I have noticed is we have a mountain of muslins!
I remember needing lots of easy to grab snacks too.
