Just had horrible thought - when you arrive at the hospital in labour, do they shave all your pubic hair off or am I just imagining I read this somewhere???

certainly not if you're having it vaginally....

No, that was in the olden days!!
They will shave the top bit for a c-section so it's recommended to do it first yoyurself just in case

They used to, aboaut 30 years ago. Not now though.

Not unless they needed to hack through with a machete just to get to the baby....

Umm well it certainly didn't happen to me, I'd have thought it very strange if they had!

itsmeNDaveP · 22/02/2007 11:23

Errrr, no

serenity · 22/02/2007 11:24

No, not anymore - not even for a CS as far as I know, although I think they might trim the top a bit for that. No enemas anymore either.

Nemo2007 · 22/02/2007 11:24

errr never had that happen here, although I do always make sure it is tidy before I go in...lol

sazjaz · 22/02/2007 11:24

id like to have seen them try

WigWamBam · 22/02/2007 11:24

They used to, years ago ... they don't any more. I had an emergency section and they shaved a little bit off where they made the incision, but that was it.

sazjaz · 22/02/2007 11:25
