Retroflexed uterus

I have had a miscarriage at 7 weeks. During scans etc, I was told I had a retroflexed uterus which means that uterus goes other way and bends slightly. Although it's not reason I miscarried, I have been reading about pregnancy and apparently the uterus can get trapped in the pelvis (incarcerated uterus) around 10-14 weeks of pregnancy which can cause issues like miscarriage. Anyone else got a retroflexed uterus and how's everything progressing with pregnancy?

I haven't got a retroflexed uterus but my uterus did get trapped in my pelvis, stopped me being able to go for a wee and meant I had to go to A&E twice. I then had to wear a catheter for a week at which point my uterus then flipped out of my pelvis on its own thankfully. All was fine with the baby, was just a stressful experience, have read it only happens to something like one in ten thousand pregnancies so hopefully very unlikely with you.

Did you stay in hospital the entire time?

No, the first time they emptied my bladder and sent me home, then the second time they emptied my bladder and sent me home wearing the catheter the following morning. A&E had no idea what was causing it, I ended up crying to my midwife who got me an urgent consultant appointment and he explained why it happened and did an examination to make sure it had flipped out properly, as sometimes If partially out it can flip back in when the bladder is empty, which is what he thinks happened to me.

I thought it could only happen to women with retroverted / flexed uterus'

I work in the ED and had never heard of it!

I've never been told mine is retroverted, I'd assume they would have told me if it was. Not much help on that front I'm afraid, but wishing you luck in a future pregnancy

Thinking about it though, I had other complications that were unrelated, I do remember him saying something about the angle of my cervix, difficult to find or something, so maybe. It's all a blur now, as DD is 19 months old.

I have what they called a tilted uterus. It's so far back that my spine can be seen in early scans and I had to have an internal ultrasound. Not sure if this is the same/similar but I was never warned of aby issues. The EPU and sonographer told me that it would pop up in to a 'normal' position by week 12 and it did both times.

I have a retroverted uterus which is so retroverted it almost folds on itself apparently. I have had 3 successful pregnancies (no mc) . The only problem has been needing an internal scan at the 12 week scan because of the angle of the uterus. As the uterus grows with the pregnancy it tends to fall into the correct position..... My sis has the same and has 4 children, no issues

I do. Currently 36 weeks and have so far had a very easy non eventful pregnancy.

I also had a MC for my first pregnancy, it's sadly incredibly common for first pregnancies regardless of which way your uterus points.

I mc at about 7 or 8 weeks and have a retro uterus also. I'm currently 15 weeks pregnant so far no problems. I'm using my doppler twice a day to hear the heart beat though. No idea if the uterus thing is linked to miscarriage.

I have a retroverted uterus and have two babies. I've had no miscarriages or pregnancy problems so it isn't always an issue.

Mine Is retroverted, scans are hard work as my bladder and bowel are usually in the way. Had some extra scans due to early bleeding some were internal scans due to uterine position, 13 weeks scan was hard work but managed to see/measure baby in the end.

Having some pelvic pain which may or may not be related.

Progressing nicely at 14 weeks though.
